Ok, so I desperately want to be part of this swap and know I have to have my 150 posts in 2 days!!! ARG~

So here goes, I'm making up some questions to answer myself. I was thinking of posting one letter on each page!! hahaha Just kidding~

1.) How did you find out you were pregnant?

2.) When did you first have that feeling?

3.) What's the best part of pregnancy that you are looking forward, besides getting out of the 1st trimester!!! Gosh is it over yet???

4.) Have you done a swap before?

1.) How did you find out you were pregnant?

My sister gave me some tests that had expired from her clinic (she's a midwife). I went home and was going to wait a few days as i still had a few days before my missed AF, but couldn't wait!!! I knew I was PREGGO, so had to take the test to confirm. Sure enough......a tiny, tiny, faint line showed up, but I didn't tell DH. Acutally a week later, when we took a test together, I pretended not to know!!! I'm bad I know!!

2.) When did you first have that feeling?

We conceived on a Sunday night and I flew to Idaho with my mom on Monday. Almost instantly I knew! Weird I know, but I was super tired, my throat started to itch (always a sign for me), and one day I brushed my boob against something and was like OUCH! I knew right away. It was funny too, cause my mom made her incredible margaritas one night and I knew I probably shouldn't have any.......But how could I turn them down without her suspecting?? So, I sipped on one all night long~ It was torture, cause I LOVE margaritas!!!

The part where I start to look incredible and feel incredible!!! I loved the way I looked when I was about 26 weeks pregnant, I had such a cute belly all in front. From behind you would never know I was pregnant! But then, watch out!!! 55 lbs gained, towards the end, I felt and looked like a blimp.....my face was soooo fat!! YUCK~

6. What is something you NEED to do, but don't feel up for it?

Buy new tires for my SUV. My husband has been hounding me, but the thought of having to wait in that lobby until they are done makes me ill~ Not to mention, I HATE spending money on things like that~ Even if they are needed~ I know silly~

8. Hospital, Homebirth, or Birthcenter?

We are planning a homebirth. We had DS in a birthcenter about an hour away......we barely made it, so my last midwife suggested I find a closer place to birth. Thankfully, husband is on board now, well sort of~

9. How long was your last labor?

4 hours of labor, 40 mins of pushing~ If they really get faster, I'm a little nervous~

10. What do you hope is different with this labor?

I'm hoping for a calmer labor. With the last one, I spent most of my time driving from one house to another and dealing with that dreaded car ride. I'm so happy to be at home this time and not have to deal with that. Also, I really want a waterbirth. We had hope for one with my DS, but it was too fast and I ended up pushing in the car. No time to fill the tub when I got there~

12. How do you pamper yourself?

I'm not sure.......although lately I find pleasure in the littlest things like taking a hot shower!! Weird I know, but with a 2 year old, there's not much time for pampering.

Well, I'm not nearly as close as you are but I'm trying to get there over the next few weeks. Hope you don't mind me joining in your question-answering fun!

1.) How did you find out you were pregnant?
I decided to take a test at 13dpo just out of habit/for the ritual because I thought I was pregnant the two months prior - but didn't have the sense I was that month. I told my Dh it would add a little thrill to our Saturday morning - and MAN did it!

2.) When did you first have that feeling?
Never suspected anything honestly! My homebirth midwife tells me in her experience it's not at all uncommon to conceive psychologically a month or two before physically conceiving. We were not trying to conceive.

3.) What's the best part of pregnancy that you are looking forward, besides getting out of the 1st trimester!!! Gosh is it over yet???

Well, I'm out of the 1st trimester, yay! I just hit 12 weeks yesterday, and the ultrasound I had last Wednesday (checking in after cramping/spotting) showed the baby growing at 10 days further than that - which would make me 13w5d. I'm not changing my due date based on an ultrasound estimate but I will be prepared for my homebirth by February 1st just in case.

Oh, I didn't really answer the question. The part of pregnancy I'm most looking forward to is being able to feel/see the baby from the outside so my older children can participate a bit more. I know they will really love that once it happens. I do have an anterior placenta, so it may be a bit longer, but I have felt some movement already so we'll see. I'm just trying to savor everything since this will be my last pregnancy.

4.) Have you done a swap before?
On another message board when I was pregnant with my oldest we did a baby-shower type swap just among the 5 or 6 of us. It was really nice to receive something from someone in the virtual world. I think it's a wonderful idea.

5. What do you miss the most?
I never been a drinker or smoker or anything, so there's nothing I've had to cut out of my life for this pregnancy. Even if there were, I've been continuously nursing the past 3+ years!

6. What is something you NEED to do, but don't feel up for it?

We have a big DIY project I designed and started just before getting pregnant that has been collecting dust all over my exploded kitchen the past 3 months. I've just started getting back into it and remembering where we left off and what's needed. It's a dining booth half-circle for 6 people with a tile table. I finally finished the table and now we're working getting the booth together. I need to order the vinyl and upholster the seats after painting the thing. It's a MONSTER project that is taking more time and money than I imagined possible (they retail $1200+).

7. Midwife or OB?

Homebirth midwife, third time. I was seeing hospital midwives for the first 6 months of my first pregnancy and left them after doing my research on homebirth. Dh actually said to me "I won't let you birth in a hospital, you're worth more than that".

9. How long was your last labor?

My last labor was about 7 hours with less than one minute of spontaneous natural ejection reflex (I did not push but blew while he shot out) - no tears, scrapes, or swelling! Dh almost missed catching him in the water and the video camera didn't get turned on in time. I'll take that labor again any day

11. What birthing method/child birth classes will you be using?

I've never taken a childbirth class nor do I subscribe to a specific method other than "OPEN" I read more than a dozen books my first pregnancy and I always take prenatal yoga (which I start again tonight - yay!). I believe it's best just to take each moment as it comes and follow your body's lead.

12. How do you pamper yourself?

Prenatal yoga is a big treat for me, and I can't wait to get back to it starting tonight. The class is run by a wonderful homebirthing doula and she starts each session with a sharing circle where each woman tells her stage in pregnancy and what's happening with her. She also has women send their birth stories back to class via "birth buddies" so we get to hear those along the way (lots of epidurals and c-sections, but an occasional homebirther like me). It's so calming and strengthing and centering. A very special time for me and my unborn baby to share together.

Maybe I can help? Here are some more questions.

How did you find MDC?

Do you frequent any other parenting boards?

Do you have any pregnancy birth books/websites that you recommend?

Is your family supportive birth plans and parenting style and/or do they think you're crazy? (I'm sure mine thing we're crazy-they don't say so to my face though. )

Are you still queasy or have you reached the "hungry all the time" stage like me?
