My oldest dd will be 15 this fall, and started high school this week, and my 2nd oldest dd is in middle school. I also have one dd in elementary school, my ds is starting preschool, and then my youngest dd is at home. My head is spinning with having my kids all going to different schools, on staggered schedules. It's nuts! I am trying to picture myself during softball season next May with a 2 month old baby. I know this baby will be spending its first few months going from carseat to sling/baby bjorn and back to the carseat.

Who else has really big "big kids" in the family? What do you think the advantages and disadvantages are? Kim (wowbaby42), if I am reading your siggy right, you will have a 24/25 year age difference between your oldest and this baby? I am 23 years older than my youngest brother, and I am not even the oldest.

Pretty close Katrinka. My oldest son will be almost 22 when this one arrives. My other son will be 19 and my daughter 13. Both of my sons are out of the house now. One lives on campus at college so he will be back and forth on school breaks. So, really it is just my dd at home. This is so new to me I am anxious to know the advantages and disadvantages. I hope my boys will have a relationship with this little one. What was it like for you??? My dd is very excited and can not wait, she is still at home so she will bond with the baby.
I just hope I can remember how to use a carseat!!!
Tell me more...

I have a 16 that I swear is more difficult than my 16 month!!!!! She is being so demanding I wnat to cry! (wait I am already doing that regulary) Surly is a word I would use to describe her. She needs to finsih some online courses to test out of 10ths and 11th grade by Oct 2nd and I am sooooo tired of her telling me she needs help ie she doesn't know how to use a search engine to figure out how to do an experiment in the Arctic Circle. I have dictated the whole damn thing to her, had hwer watch a program wiht me and discussed it with her. What she is saying is she wants me to write it because I am the sciewntist.
