I spent last Thursday and Friday in L&D (because I am past 21 weeks I have to see them first before I can see the ER) and the ER off and on, with severe upper adominal pain and puking. The best they could say was it was food poisoning or listeria (waiting on this test result still though)....they had no clue. I was told of I got worse to go back in.

I did a liquid diet for a day, and then started small bland foods. Threw up again early sunday but wasnt in pain, so I stayed home.

I woke up again this morning around 5 in severe pain, worse than the other day. Went into L&D by ambulance.

Not only was I in severe pain and cramping from the the puking, I was contracting every 3 minutes.....I couldnt tell I was contracting at all. They gave me meds to stop the contractions, and for the puking and pain.

My Dr is worried that I wasnt feeling the contractions According to the strip they were pretty decent ones too.

So now I am on meds full time, and on strict bedrest for a few days. They also want me on an all liquid diet for a week.....which I dont mind at all, it just didnt factor into our grocery shopping the other day, and we dont have the money to do it. I cheated and ate a plain waffle earlier.....which I did ok with, I just aint gunna push it.

I just dont need to get much sicker! They were gunna admit me if the contractions didnt stop, thank goodness they did. If I continue like this though, they said delivering me early may be the only thing they can do I am only 24 1/2 weeks right now

I'm so sorry you're going through this.

It sounds terribly painful and emotionally draining. I'm glad they were able to stop the contractions, and that the puking has eased. But how awful to go through all of that, and now to be worried about the future.

Hang in there, mama. As hard as it is, try to visualize your uterus as a strong, secure, calm, safe home for your baby. Breathe deep. Know that we're sending you lots of positive vibes!!

I hope you feel better soon. Did they rule out other stuff like gall bladder and all that? Mind you I have no idea where any organs are when we are preggo LOL.

I had my gallbladder removed after my oldest was born, and my appendix removed last year. But I do have a tumor on my liver, that they said might be contributing to what is going on, they arent sure. They cant do the biopsy or the MRI to check on it and see if its grown or gotton worse, since I am pregnant.

I tried eating some chicken broth for dinner.....made the pain worse I have no idea what the heck I am supposed to do.

Oh that sounds awful. Is there anything that appeals to you at all food/drink wise? I had a stomach bug for 48 hours last week and couldn't keep anything down, finally managed to get in some gatorade type stuff but am still not back to normal.

Thanks mamas!

I feel so weak right now I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning, and can still barely function. Between not eating and my meds I feel crappy.

Thank goodness the twins are easy to care for most days and have actually been good today, and the oldest is actually helping out DP had to go back to work today since he has already missed 3 days due to this, and he doesnt qualify for FMLA since he hasnt been there a year yet.

mtm: as far as what appeals to me....right now anything...LOL. Ive been drinking Life Water, but only have a couple left til DPs next payday. As far as food goes, I tried a waffle this morning and it was a mistake....nothing food wise seems to work right now.

Contractions are crappy this morning. About 2-3 an hour. I took a double dose of meds and am waiting to see if it helps. I have a call into my OBs office, and right now they want to see if the double dose helps, if not then I have to go to L&D for a few shots again

Today is DPs birthday....I cant even muster up enough energy or get the contractions to stop long enough to even take 5 minutes and throw him a cake in the oven.....I cant cook him dinner, or even buy him a gift or a card....I know he understands, but it just sucks anyways
