ok, gonna try to at least get dd's dress cut out tonight. And figure out what fabric to use for a shirt for Siah. I have some awesome japanese patterns. I want these to be what they wear for Easter. I always try to make them something for Easter, and I have no idea how able I will be come next month! I would love to make something for the babe too! The patterns I have have the cutest, easiest smart looking shorts for babies!

Due with number 5 in August. We do all that crunchy stuff.

To Do List

1) Take sewing machine and serger to shop for service. This way I won't be tempted to start a new project

So this is the last thing I really want to do before the baby comes. They are at least put away and out of sight so DH can lug them down there whenever.

So next things to add:

Go out to pre baby dinner with MDC mama friends on Friday at 7pm

Get pedicures done with oldest DD on Sunday at noon

Allison wife and mom to four.

- pack up and organize "catch all room" to make space for baby stuff Done!!! And all clean!!
- figure out what to do with ds's clothes so I can use his dresser for
baby/changing stuff Done!! and the clothes are all organized in a new dresser!
- take out toys that ds has outgrown and put them in garage (aka storage) Done!
- find baby clothes and accessories in said storage Done. My goodness there are a lot of accessories! I at least know where everything is now and am bringing it down as I can organize and put it away right away.
- wash and prep baby clothes, at least ones that can be unisex. Organize
the rest. Done!! AWW, those clothes are sooooo cute! Since we didn't know ds's sex before he is born most of the littlest clothes will work for either boy or girl. There are a couple of things that are missing that are bugging me. Some cute moccasins in paticular. I am hoping they will turn up in another random spot.
- wash and organize diapers
- do taxes
- finish my year end billing Done! and that means $ coming in
- gather home birth supplies got most of the stuff, still need a couple of things. ordered tub and birth kit
- get ds a new car seat finally made a decision about which one to get, just need to order.
- wash and prep infant car seat The cover is off and waiting to be washed. Now hopefully I will be able to get the darn thing back on the car seat!
- get sling back from friend Done!
- get out co sleeper and set up this weekend
- move ds to dh's side of the bed This weekend
- plan and prep food for birth
- wash windows
- deep clean van It's been organized, still needs to be cleaned.
- get birthing videos and watch with ds picked up a video at the midwife's. just need to watch it.

We are coming along. I am still nesting like crazy and getting lots of other stuff done that I didn't bother to put on the list. I am definitely feeling more ready for baby!

Okay, I'm gonna re-jig my list. Some of the original stuff is done, not relevant any more, too specific or not specific enough. So here goes:

BIRTH-RELATED:
--Pick up birth pool
--Buy empty capsules for placenta
--Write list for DH, in the event of a hospital transfer, telling him what to refuse, what to accept and what to do.
--Buy Gatorade and ginger beer

BABY-RELATED:
--Sew liners for baskets to hold clothes
--Work out some kind of bin system for dirty nappies/clothes
--Sew curtain for baby's wardrobe
--Sew thingy to hang on wall to hold nappy pins, nappy liners, creams etc

HOUSE-RELATED:
--Paint bathroom
--Paint kitchen/dining room
--Finish painting office
--Sand down windowsills in living room
--Paint windowsills in living room

If decomposition persists please see your necromancer.

Ok. I have officially done EVERYTHING on my list, including the things I had crossed off for being non-urgent.

NOW can the baby come????

Me , him , and the two most beautiful little lovey girls in the world: 3/08 and 1/10. Planning our escape from the treadmill!

Here's what's left of my to-do list!
  1. Wash Ergo carrier and Ring Sling.
  2. Wash car seat cover.
  3. Clean out the fridge/freezer. (We were supposed to that yesterday, but ran out of time - next week, I guess!)
  4. Sew Boppy slip cover.
  5. Sew DIAPERS!!
  6. Sew at least 1 pair of baby moc's (est time: 2 hours tops).
  7. Review Bradley Method techniques with DH. (Not to mention- put myself back into a mental and emotional state of being prepared to go through labor again without panicking!)
  8. Pull out the co-sleeper set it up next to the bed. (Heck, I could wait till I'm in labor to do that part!)

Obviously the biggest time sink in there is sewing diapers, but I'm not going to stress over it. I mostly decided to do it for fun, as well as save a bit of money, but after DH's raise and tax returns, we'll have enough to cover purchasing diapers if I don't finish.

Today I finished the one project I was most eager about!
Baby Blanket

SAHM to Melinda (Oct '03), Jacob (Aug '05),  Alex (Apr '08), and baby.gif Malcolm (Sept 29, '11)

- move ds to dh's side of the bed Done! and it doesn't seem to be an issue for ds thank goodness
- plan and prep food for birth I have some ideas, just need to get it together

- deep clean van It's been organized, still needs to be cleaned.
- get birthing videos and watch with ds we watched the one we had but i was not happy with it so hopefully I will be able to pick up a better one this week

If only the taxes would do themselves. I have to organize info and fill out a worksheet to give to the tax guy, so I need to put that on the front burner. Honestly though, I have all the crucial things ready for baby to make an appearance.

Okay, the living room windowsills are sanded. Ow. My shoulder hurts. Having a short chocolate chip cookie break, then I've gotta start wielding the masking tape and sugar soap. Fun.

Well, the painting didn't get done yesterday, so this afternoon it is. Luckily MIL is here to help. We went out with the kids to a park and picked up our meat CSA earlier, and I went by the japanese book store and aquired a new crafting book, for Easter. Tons of cute little animals and creatures I want to crochet. So now I have to go to the craft store to get thread and a tiny crochet hook Gotta have a hospital project! Crocheting tiny people eggs are SOOOOOOOOO important.

WHY o WHY do I allow myself to be a victim of cute japanese crafting?

Due with number 5 in August. We do all that crunchy stuff.

OMG! I am so not with it compared to you mamas! Let's see, so far I have:
Washed all the newborn pre-folds and covers. Still need to get more CD's for the LO.

Bought a new car seat for LO

Did the "registry thing" for family who's been badgering me about a baby shower. Funny how no one in the family is purchasing the CDs from my Babyworks registry. Dh's grandma bought me a TON of disposables, after I sent out a mass e-mail that we do not use them, and directed them to the online registry for CDs:.

Bought a few newborn onesies and footed jammies at Goodwill.

Finished the blanket I've been working on since November! Inspired by an artisan's blanket I admired at a festival last Fall, I've been purchasing cashmere and silk clothing items at resale/thrift stores and cutting out blocks from them to make LO a blanket. ONe side is all cashmere bordered w/ silk, and the other side silk bordered w/ cashmere. This is my first "real" sewing project, so it's FAR from perfect, or even pretty. Dh says he'd be real "stoked" to have such a lovey for himself, though.

As for food, I went to BJ's the other day and bought small fortune's worth of pasta, frozen veggies, salmon steaks, shrimp, couscous, rice pilaf, chix broth etc so DH can easily whip up dinner without my help.

We finally did the test run for the birth pool yesterday. All went well.

We still need to get those things to do footprints. And we are planning our 2nd UC, but packing a bag in case of transfer sounds like a good idea. Hmmm, what else am I leaving out?

1.Figure out how to install the car seat and do it already!
2.Make a list of all things to grab for hospital (bags are packed but need to remember boppy, etc)
3.Call the VA about a stupid dr bill from 2 years ago that needs to be taken care of, since I doubt I'll have the time/patience later
4.Make sure all finances are in place/autopay set up on bills due around mid-month
