Anyone else want to motivate each other and post their list with me. We can update as we get things done and add as we think of more by cut and pasting from our old post. This being child number four I am so busy I have done almost nothing. Not to mention I keep telling myself I have time and then I realize its going so fast I should get busy.

My to do list:

1. Go through boxes of baby clothes in garage
2. Wash what using for new baby
3. Make diapers
4. Buy covers and snappis to round out stash
5. Make mama pads for postpartum
6. Get house decluttered (ha ha this is so not happening)
7. Dig out bassinet and bedding for it- wash and clean all
8. Get some more nursing tanks
9. Make cloth wipes
10. Find ring sling and pouch and wash
11. Buy birth kit stuff
12. Find a better way to store/organize the diapers

Okay thats all I can think of for now.

Allison wife and mom to four.

This is good timing, I just wrote up a list tonight and stressed myself out lol. This is the stuff that is just birth-specific, not including the other general house and crafty projects (like decluttering the house, selling some stuff, etc) I'd like to get done before March!

- set up/wash out pool and do trial blow-up/fill
- make list of birth food to have on hand, at 37 weeks do that shopping
- read EC book, buy some large absorbent pads
- assemble birth announcements (minus birth details!)
- finish and frame DD2's birth record
- drink RRL tea daily, at 35 weeks start perineal massage, and at 36 weeks start taking EPO. Ongoing
- re-read Ina May's book, commit 15 minutes each night for birth meditation/visualization Ongoing
- take sibling birth class with DD1, read Welcome w/Love regularly and find more birth videos for her to see Ongoing

- wrap presents from DD2 to DD1 DONE
- make freezer meals DONE
- hang art in birthing/play roomDONE
- buy new carseat for DD1DONE
- schedule date to do belly cast with mom- DONE
- buy pump for birth pool- DONE
-buy birth supplies DONE
- paint play/baby stuff room (I've got one coat done, another coat and trim left to go)- DONE
- move dresser, changing table and a couple of toy bins in there. DONE except changing table
- sew curtains for play/baby stuff room- DONE
- sew wipes and blanket for DD2- DONE
- make list of freezer meals and shopping lists- DONE
- wash newborn diapers, stock changing table- DONE
- wash 0-3 month clothes, stock dresser- DONE
- talk with mom about birth, needs for DD1, etc.DONE
- knit some burp cloths, and finish DD2's hat- DONE
- design birth announcement and buy supplies- DONE
- buy nursing bras- DONE

Oye, looking at it gives me a headache. DD1 was born at 38 weeks too, so I really want to get everything done by the end of Feb, just in case.

Excellent idea!

-Done: get enough 0-3 month clothes for the 1st month
-Done: wash nb clothes & blankets
-Done: find little tub for bathing
-make homemade baby changing/massage oil
-Done: get inflatable changing pad, cut up some towels for it, get dipes
-Done: wipes, burp cloths, extra-soft thin terry towels for after baths
-keep researching CDing (I want to try but it seems so complicated so far with such a big initial investment)
-Done: get nursing tops, nursing bras, pads
-Done: get at least one carrier
-Done: set up a baby clothes/changing/supply area
-Done: get a nightlight (so we don't have to turn on bright lights for nightime nursing & changing)
-Done: "make" co-sleeper sidecar (adjust and attach crib to my side of bed)
-Done: prepare birth announcement cards
-finish reading birth books
-start doing perineum massage, reviewing labor relaxation techniques
-stock up freezer meals for first few weeks
-almost done: decide on names!
-Done: car seat
-finish baby blanket I started
-Done: get list of stuff midwife wants for birth kit
-Done: plan bag for birth clinic
-clean house!

This is great, I'm getting organized!

i woke up last night, and couldn't fall asleep because I was thinking about all the things I have to do!!!
  • i need to make a little bumper for the cradle we bought.
  • go through our storage unit (which is NOT organized) and find NB blankets & clothes.
  • get Dd out of our bed!!! there isn't room for everyone! & i don't want her sleep to compromised because of the baby waking up & nursing.

I haven't made a list because quite frankly it would be too long

I've instead decided to do 4 things a day.
1. Listen to birth affermations
2. Listen to hypnobirthing cd
3. One baby thing (diapers/clothes/cleaning/ect)
4. One thing for birth (ordering supplies/finding storage container for MW supplies/ect)

So far that's working, I don't get too overwhelmed.

Mom to ds 9 dd 7 : and dd 3/08 : if I can I go to

1. Buy a carseat. Still haven't decided if I want the bucket type that is done at 1 year or a convertible. Of course, a year with a new baby and the convertible may be too icky past a year...
2. wash all his clothes
3. buy diapers
4. pack hospital bag
5. Register at hospital
6. Have had the fridge fixed 4x in 6 mos, so before I make any freezer meals I have to trust that the dang thing is fixed! Then we need to SERIOUSLY stock up.
7. Get a pack n play or something for babe to sleep in until he can join us in bed full time
8. Talk to boss about bringing baby to work/work from home
9. find back up childcare (I don't wanna! Can't I win the lottery or something?)
10. Go thru an entire week without a crisis with DD's Kindergarten teacher-just a week-it's all I ask!
11. make chicken soup for labor
12. Uh, decide if we are gonna run back to Washington and quit my new job and give up on this career move cause it's just not panning out and I don't wanna have a baby so far from home! (deep breath...)and find some way to stay home instead. (I like my WA midwife better, I like the hospital better, DH makes a better wage there). Prett unlikely-okay as likely as another ice age hitting this week. When I bring it up DH looks at me like I'm crazy. I have 8 weeks before he's due though-there's still time! Okay, I am crazy.
13. Find lots of time to do special things with DD cause she won't be an only child anymore in just 2 months!!!
14. Plan and execute DD's 6th bday party
15. Go to Disneyworld for a weekend
16. Heal my marriage
17. Get over all the other BS going on and get really excited and focused on this baby!!

Ok, I've accomplished a few things here but have had to add some too so I still don't feel like I've done much. I only hope I can get most of it done before my bubble pops.

1. Sign up for diaper service
2. Buy diaper covers (done)
3. Construct mei tais
4. Make nursing pads (decided to buy them instead)
5. Organize the home birth supplies
6. Divide up baby clothes; 1/2 upstairs, 1/2 downstairs (done)
7. Make shopping list of labor food
8. Cover the pads for the baby basket
9. Make baby's blanket
10. Buy a dowel to hang the organizer (done)
11. Move our bed against the wall (done)
12. Still waiting for the pool to show up (it's here)
13. Buy nursing bras since the old ones don't fit this time
14. Make up "things to do when labor starts" list for DF
15. Pack the just-in-case bag in the event of a hospital transfer

I need my husband's employer to give him his W-2's so we can get our tax return and get some baby stuff.

Around 36 weeks I'm going to start washing diapers and clothes. I don't expect to go before 40 weeks.

I totally need to do this. I've been thinking for the last week that I actually need to sit down and write a list, or nothing will ever get done. This is as good a place as any!

Becky's To-Do List:
  1. Wash Ergo and Ring Sling.
  2. Wash car seat cover.
  3. Sew Boppy slip cover. (SIL might be purchasing one for me?)
  4. Sew at least 1 pair of baby moc's.
  5. Sew DIAPERS!! (Okay, I've given up on having time for NB dipes- I'll buy a cheap system for NB's, and do sewing for size small.)
  6. Review Bradley Method techniques with DH.
  7. Pull out/set up the co-sleeper and rearrange the bedroom to work with a baby.
  8. Clean out the fridge/freezer.
  9. Sew baby blanket(s) with already purchased fabric. Done!
  10. Pick a name for the baby. I think this might be done! DH and I both like Alexander Boden right now.
  11. Clean the house, especially get the bedroom and master bathroom in ideal condition. Due date: 36 weeks. DONE!!!!!!
  12. Get the mattress OFF THE FLOOR!!!! Getting out of bed is getting too hard! Done! Whew!
  13. Finalize plans for help with other children during the birth. Done!
  14. Go through baby clothes, make sure there are enough 0-3 month pieces. Done!

Perhaps we all need to check out the "women who do to much" affirmation book.
Today:
1) car seat accessories (whatever they call the little things to hold the head up, soften the belt straps)
2) still haven't gotten diaper changing pads
3) call around for futons
4) sigh, yoga.

1. Buy diaper pins
2. MAKE AND FREEZE FOOD – this is happening this weekend, damn it. I know that it will SAVE us after the birth, and that I will be furious with myself if I don’t do it.
3. Make a LOT of cat food. I usually make a 6 week supply, I will shoot for at least two months this time. I think I will do that this weekend too, so it’s off of my mind.
4. Buy disposable incontinence pads for the birth.
5. Hand-write notices refusing eye-goop and Vitamin K shot.
6. Buy or make nursing pads
7. Hem blankets from flannel that Gramma sent (it’s so pretty!!)
8. WASH all of the baby clothes and diapers I have, plus the handed-down afghan blanket
9. Buy fitted crib sheets, wash them – wait until after the shower
10. Buy mattress cover for crib - wait until after the shower
11. Make “sidecar bridge” blanket for under baby and mommy to catch diaper spills and nursing leaks
12. Buy a lot of baking soda, bulk, for washing diapers, buy extra laundry soap too
13. Buy or make a “wet” diaper bag for walks and wanderings.
14. Stock-up on bulk staples. Flour, cornmeal, oatmeal, dry beans, sugar, lactation tea, canned tomatoes, potatoes, etc.

OMG! I forgot about the car seat. I think I will lose my mind....

We don't have a car, but I guess we should have one.

Oh, and DH needs to re-calk the bath tub. I haven't been reminding him, so I guess I should start.

If it's any consolation, I need to call britax like NOW and see if our seat will be useable this time. Ohterwise, we have to get ds a booster, and another carseat:

Due with number 5 in August. We do all that crunchy stuff.

OK - Just wanted to say that I admire you all but I can't do more that skim your lists without starting to hyperventilate!!! Congrats to all of you marking off those tasks!

The things on my list right now are: work 40+ hours a week, choose an elementary school for ds before the district deadline, and try to fit in yoga, acupuncture, and chiro to get this baby to turn...

I did get some newborn diapers and find the pile of 0-6 clothes so I figure that, worst case, I can throw them in the laundry on the way to the hospital and the friend who is taking care of ds #1 can put them in the dryer and bring a few to the hospital!!!
