I was suffering a lot from waking and not being able to fall back to sleep after going pee. I would look at the clock and get depressed and feel all wide awake. So my two new remedies that seem to work alright are:
1. Don't look at the clock during the night
2. Deep breathing helps me get back to sleep, concentrating on each breath. helps with backache too!

What do you do?

No advice just :

I've got this BAD as well. The awful irony is that ds just (like in the last 2 weeks) started sleeping through the night, so I lie there and listen to him snoring while I'm awake

I'm thinking about having a glass of wine tonight.

Powdered magnesium is WONDERFUL! It's completely safe, lemon flavoured even, just a teaspoon will do.

I have had horrible insomnia for the past month, and the magnesium really helped.

I have a big cup of warm milk or tea and a little MDC reading usually puts me out when I can't sleep.

I also love the powdered magnesium - I drink Mama Calm. It just helps me to relax. I like to drink it hot like tea. I still have bouts of not being able to sleep at night but it's gotten better. Now I'm just getting to the point where I'm uncomfortable in any one position for very long and I have to get up and pee a gizillion times a night so that's what wakes me up!

Happy, restful sleeping vibes to all of you mamas! :

I threw dh out of bed one night. That helped!
It's bad enough to wake up with contractions, and/or because I have to pee or roll over. Then I can't get back to sleep and he SNORES.

I'll also put on my ipod and listen to a playlist of nothing but the sounds of the ocean.

How is powdered different than pills? I've been taking lots of mg for restless legs, it helps a small amount but I'm not sure it's doing anything for sleep.

Mom to ds 9 dd 7 : and dd 3/08 : if I can I go to

I'm in Toronto and got mine at a local health food shop, but somewhere like WHole Foods, or somewhere smaller and independent may have it too.

I bought it at a local store here in town but you can order it online. When I googled it, I even found it on amazon. HTH!
