Rough draft Birth Story...
I was put on bedrest Wednesday morning because of my sudden high blood pressure.
I went in to be checked Wed. afternoon and the baby's hr was good but my bp was still too high. They took a blood test to check for pre-e.
My midwife asked to check my cervix to see how close I was in case they needed to induce in the next day or so. I was 3cm dilated, 50% effaced and the baby was at 0 station. She said she could feel my bag of water bulging. She offered to strip my membranes and induce labor that day because I was so close but she admitted that they would probably have to transfer me to the hospital because my bp was over the cut off of 140/90.
I did not want another hospital birth so I declined. My midwife said she would put me on strict bedrest and wait it out a couple of days to see if I went into labor on my own or my bp went down.
The next day (Thursday) I was called back into the birth center for an NST because the blood test results came back and they were not as good as they would have liked. The NST went great, the baby looked super, but my bp had not gone down at all. My midwife said that they had to consult with a Doc and I might have to go in to see the Doc on Friday. The way my bps were now if the baby came I would have to be transfered to the hospital. This was very upsetting to me. She did say I could still labor at home until I felt like I had to come in.
That night around 9pm I started having contractions. I was excited because I was worried for the baby and wanted her to be born while she was still doing well. But I was also sad at the thougt of going to the hospital. I didn't call anyone that night because I have long labors and wasn't sure if this was the real thing or not.
Around 1am I knew it was labor and asked my Dh to start filling up the aquadoula. I thought I could still use it for labor even thought it looked like I would not be delivering at home. It took 2 hours to fill!! I was a little surprised by that.
My contractions were about 5 minutes apart on average but they really fluctuated. By 6am they were 3 minutes apart but at 8am I was very tired and laid down to rest and they started spacing farther apart so I thought maybe this was false labor after all. I get that alot. I was a little dissapointed.
Sorry, I have to say to be continued this is taking longer than I thought LOL!!! I will finish up the story a little later.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!
