I'm reading this book right now and I'd love someone to discuss it with. Anyone interested in reading it with me?

Yeah, I finished it. I really enjoyed reading it. It made me realize how different things are for us today, but how far we still have to go to get things the ways they should be. Some of the content really hit home with me by describing things that remind me of attitudes or experiences that I've had that I know could come from being "the other" that de Beauvoir describes in this book.

Highly recommended.

Awww you already finished it. I guess I didn't realize how old this thread was or I would have read it with you. It's on my list of books I want to read.

Sure thing! I'm going to need a few days so I can swing by the library to pick up a copy. I'm also going to send you a PM in case you don't see this message. If anyone else wants to join let us know!

I checked out the book at the library (browsed through it). Seems like a pretty hefty book--one that I probably won't be able to take on at the current moment. It's one that I'm really going to have to sit down to read without any distractions. And that probably won't be anytime soon. Just thought I would let you know...

no worries. let me know if/when you might want to tackle it. i'm rather busy myself, so if you ever feel like you'd like to read it, i am definitely willing to take it slowly. i usually have a few books going at once anyway.
