Do not click on or read this thread if you have not finished Book 7.

This thread is for quoting those parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that made you laugh out loud!

Mods - is this okay? Can you hae more than one HPDH thread with spoilers?

If so, I'll come back and post mine later.

Yeah, we can have more than one thread now.

We added the Book Clubs forum so we can get a little more in depth and have more organized discussion. The single thread thing is a little overwhelming.

When Hermione threw herself at Ron and kissed him.
When Fred/George was arguing with Lee on air about wanting to be called "Rapier".
When McGonagall led the desks into the fight!
When Trelawny was dropping crystal balls on death eater's heads.
When Ron hears Peeves singing his "Voldy's gone moldy" song and comments on how that really brings things into perspective.

I know I'll think of more..One of the things I love so much about these books is how they make me laugh!!

Some I remember off the top of my head:

Professor McGonnagal yelling "Charge!" as a bunch of desks ran into battle.

The image of all the kitchen elves coming into battle with kitchen knives (and I pictured them using spatulas as shields).

The whole conversation after Rona and Hermoine finally kissed.

: Especially the "Rodent" "Rapier" thing!

"Merlin's saggy left..."

The image of Neville coming out of the tunnel, banged and bruised and happy as a freakin' clam.

When Hermione yells at Ron, "Are you a Wizard, or what?" It was an echo of him yelling that at her in book... er, 1 or 2, when she said she couldn't make a light because she didn't have matches.

Fred and George's dry humor, pretty much every time it popped up: for instance, at the beginning when Harry's arguing about the plan to remove him from the Dursley's house and they're all, "Well, *that* scuppers the plan, now, doesn't it?" Oh, in that same scene: Ron's, "I knew Ginny was lying about that tattoo!"

Every single scene fred and george were in.....till fred died

Especially, when george wakes up after having his ear magicked off and says he feels "like a saint...holey" : And Fred makes fun of him because he can use every ear joke in the world and the best he can come up with is HOLEY :

"We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams."

All of the above, plus when Snape told Dumbledore something like, 'Would you like me to kill you now, or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?' laughup

And Kreacher - throughout, but especially when they were questioning Dung and he's banging him over the head with a saucepan,

"Kreacher, no!" said Harry

"Perhaps just one more, Master Harry, for luck."

"We need him conscious...but if he needs persuading, you can do the honors."

"Thank you ver much, Master."

And then the scene where someone has just saved Harry's life:

"

Are you mental?" says Ron, "Why the hell...?"

Oh I adore Ron's personality!

Yes the whole desks and dishes and ghosts in the battle scene just made the whole thing SO much more fun - fabulous comic relief - they're fighting the ultimate evil and I'm laughing so hard my sides hurt!

...and thanks for letting us have this thread!

So, d'ya think Hermione will someday be able to keep a straight face long enough to read "Babbity Rabbity and her Cackling Stump" to her children?

A LITTLE????

Should the words "Harry Potter" be in the title of the thread though?

Ok, what's the next line there? I know the line was interupted- but do you think he was about to say "testicle" or "buttock"?

Yes, so like if people want to start a thread for each individual chapter that is ok in this forum.

But, it does need to say HP or something, as there is another book club in here and there will probably be more.

That's the funny thing, I think everyone knew it was about HP without his name being mentioned

"IF WE DIE FOR THEM, I'LL KILL YOU, HARRY!" Screamed Ron. hee-hee

Somewhere at the end of the book, when Voldermort knows Harry is in the castle, Harry says "Voldermort" and Luna says something like "Oh, we can say his name now?" Actually, almost every Luna line is pretty funny

Again, the Weasly twins are freakin' hilarious! : (well, they were, anyway *sniff*)

Oh that broke me up - and Luna WAS hilarious and uplifting throughout - my HP/LL "ship" did not sail, but if I just forget the Epilogue I can pretend!

Ron has always made me break up and I think the humor she uses with him is a touch more subtle than with Fred/George - who also tend to break me up.

The Potterwatch reminded me a tad bit of Dr Demento's craziness - I need to see if he's still on air.

Well, they might have had a fling before Harry and Ginny got married.

Can I include favorite lines from previous books?

Book 5, when the Weasleys learn that Ron has been made Prefect:

Molly: Ron, A Prefect! I'm so proud - that's everyone in the family!
George: What are we, the next-door neighbors?

Book 6, when Dumbledore comes to 4 Privet Drive to get Harry (the entire scene is hysterical, but this part is my favorite):

Vernon: I don't mean to be rude...
Dumbledore: Yet accidental rudeness occurs alarmingly often. Best not to say anything at all.

I love Fred and George - everywhere.

And OHHH that scene with Dumbledore and the Dursleys is so great! I remember just rolling about the glasses banging the Dursleys in the head.

I thought that Molly's line as she goes after Bellatrix was funny, largely because it was so out of character for her (the language, mainly) and because I had an image of Julie Walters screaming "Not my daughter, you B!T@H" as she takes on Helena Bonham Carter.

Mama to Aeden, : my little NICU grad and Conner and Liam () my precious twins. is due mid April!

Exactly! I was getting a little used to the idea of profanity what with all of Ron's "effing" this and "effing" that, but when Molly straight out used the B-word, all in caps, at the top of a new page, I just sat there....blinked a few times, then laughed out loud and said "yes!"

...then kept on reading like a mad woman.

At this point I dropped my book from shock. Actually. Dropped. My. Book. Then I started grinning like a madwoman and made several "Alright!" and "You go girl!" comments. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm insane. I sooo hope this ends up in the movie.

And I don't think I've seen this one mentioned yet. During the Potterwatch broadcast Fred commented that Voldermort "...can move faster than Severus Snape confronted with shampoo."

I can't imagine that line NOT being in the movie! They had no qualms about using the "B" word in the 3rd movie! (OK, so Aunt Marge was talking about dogs...)

Oh thanks so much for reminding me of this one - I just LOVED it and loved all of Potterwatch.

I wasn't shocked by Mrs Weasley as much as I just roared! JK isn't exactly prim, but she hasn't used profanity much; still, as the master that she is with language, it just goes to show you that she can use a relatively light cursswords to maximum effect. It's like it counted for 10 hardcore words from other authors.

Brilliant!

The other day I told DD that there are very few people (or fictional characters) I would call a bitch. Umbridge, Bellatrix, and Fang's mother all qualify.

I love Ron and luna's personalities and Fed and george almost always make me laugh.
