I bought the book on cd because I thought it might be a good book club book......not so anymore. Just wondering if anyone else has read this book and what they thought of it.

I read it last spring. I laughed out loud constantly. I really liked the writing style. It reminded me a lot of David Sedaris. (whom i also love.) have you read it/listened to it or were you looking for reviews before you did?

It was too disturbing for me. I think a few things made me laugh, but he really did not remind me of Sedaris. That's not what I was looking for, I just know that that comparison gets made a lot.

I read it as part of a book club and rated it "okay". I wouldn't read it again though. IMO the movie was absolutely horrible. Oh, and I can't stand David Sedaris' writing : I just don't appreciate that type of humor at all.

I found the book quite entertaining and downloaded the movie right after I finished reading it...

Skip the movie, it was terrible. I'd recommend the book if you want a giggle.

I loved the book but hated the movie. It just didn't do the book justice. Augusten Burroughs brother has a book out that's pretty good. Not as funny but an interesting look into the life of someone w/ Asperger's. Although some of his stories are a little hard to believe. It's call Look Me in the Eye and his name is John Robison if anyone's interested.

I liked the book. It was entertaining, but not mind-blowing.

I thought the movie better, but that may be because I saw it first. Plus, I'm pretty partial to Evan Rachel Wood

Liked the book a lot, hated the movie, think Burroughs is far greater talent than Sedaris.

I read this book earlier this year. Haven't seen the movie tho. I did laugh out loud at parts of it, & other parts I found really.... disconcerting. THe author is a hoot in interviews.

I thought it was ok. entertaining, I finished it (and I refuse to finish books that are too boring), but I wouldn't want to read it again. maybe another one by the author?

I read most of it. I didn't really find it that funny, although it did have a few moments. There came a point in the book that I found just too disturbing and I couldn't get past it so I returned it to the friend I borrowed it from.

I read it all the way through pretty quickly... but looking back on it, I didn't really like it and found parts of it disgusting. I have no desire to see the movie.

I really liked the book (the movie, not so much), but I LOVED his other books! Dry and Magical Thinking tie for my favorites, but I really liked Possible Side Effects too. It's been so long since I read his novel Sellevision that I barely remeber it, but I'm pretty sure I liked that one too. I haven't read his latest A Wolf at the Table yet, but I will soon. I'm also planning to read his brother's book.

I read it and rate it at a 1.5/5 probably? Just not great. My dad started it and wouldn't finish- he swears up and down it's totally made up. I'm not sure what I believe.
