Edited to add: I am keeping the original TF. It seems like the new TF might not be out as soon as we were all hoping.

I tried holding off for the new TF but when the rumors came out that the TF was getting pushed to June or July, I went ahead and had a regular TF ordered for my son. The seat is a gift so when I was told by the gifter that it was backordered for 4 weeks, I just said okay. Now I just got it delivered. My son still has a bit of room to grow in his bucket. We're supposed to be moving but no plans in place for that (it's a six hour drive and I want him to be comfortable).

I was really wanting a TF with ARB but the regular is already here and I do prefer the Casino cover I ordered over the options for the ARB version. My hubby did say that if I really want we could possibly Craigslist the regular one and then purchase the new one.

Keep the regular if you are happy with the colour, and do not want to wait.
My DD is just outgrowing her bucket. We tried waiting for the ARB, which most sites listed as available to ship between May 25th-28th. Today is the 28th, and when I checked to see if anyone had them, all the dates were pushed back another 2 weeks.
I can't keep waiting, so I think we're just going to purchase the current model.

It looks like it. They (First Years) told me end of May, and now the only places I can find it are saying earliest shipping is mid-June. There is nothing about it still on the Learning Curve website either.
We ordered our regular TF this morning... Babies 'r' Us had 15% off with free shipping, so I just broke down and ordered the darn thing. I can't keep waiting, DD isn't waiting on her growing

Tari - That is exactly how I was feeling in early April when I let the gifter know to order the seat. Unfortunately it was backordered and now the new version is taunting me one last time!

OP, since you'll be using the seat RF, I'd sell the original model and buy the new one. But having a RF tether or ARB on a RF seat is a big deal to me.

Why did they make the new covers so ugly? I'd keep the old version. We have one and I love it.

Due to the release date being murky, I'm going to keep the regular one. I find it a bad omen that the First Years website no longer lists an approximate release date. If I'd have bought a Scenera to get me through this timeframe, I could continue to wait. (I didn't do that due to my pending move which much like the release date of the TF has been changed several times.)

I would have loved to have had the ARB but the original version has been well recommended here and at car-seat.org for a considerable amount of time. I have confidence that my son will be safe and comfortable in his new seat.

I went ahead and ordered the regular one today. Its making me too nervous to continue waiting...I need a carseat, and soon! I'm worried the release date will again be pushed back, and for my own (nesting) peace of mind, I went ahead and got the 'old' version. Great deal, though, on amazon.com $150 with free shipping for the Monet color!

Just installed my TF. Not too bad although I think that your first carseat install is the hardest one because you're not sure of what you're doing at all.

I have to take an hour drive with my LO tomorrow evening so I wanted him to be nice and comfy!

We love our Monet True fit so much that we bought 2 from happy mothers....

did any of you wash the cover? I am thinking I should wash those chemicals off- especially now that its getting warmer and DD has more skin contact with the fabric....?

I am planning on it, esp as the True Fits still aren't listed on the healthycar.org site, so I'm not sure what chemicals they use on the seat/fabric.

Except that the TF manual states no machine wash or dry.

I wish I would have washed the cover last night. But no. I decide this morning is a good time to do it. It is currently very, very wet. I'm hoping it dries by tonight. I unstalled the shell since I have some errands to run this afternoon and will reinstall my bucket.

There's a poll on their site where you can vote for it to be tested.

Tina - mama to DD1 10yrs, DD2 5.5 yrs and DD3 22 mo and wifey to DH.

So, that means wash by hand and air dry, right?
