I'm having a small issue with DS. He is 20 months old, RF in an Eddie Bauer 3-in-1. He is 32" tall, 22 pounds. The seat is installed properly, and we use the pinch test for the tightness of the straps. The chest clip, each time he's buckled in, is adjusted to be at armpit level.

Well, we were on a long car trip this last weekend, and through boredom or whatever, he's figured out how to move his chest clip around. The first time I saw it way down by the other buckle when I took him out I thought I'd maybe neglected to adjust it when I put him in, so next time I put him in his seat I made sure to adjust it properly. But he still pulled it down.

Short of constantly watching him and readjusting it during a trip, is there anything I can do about this? How could I make it tighter, so he can't move it? Is there a way?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The chest clip is a pre-crash positioner, and in Europe they don't use them. Just make sure that the straps are good and tight, and readjust the clip when you can. This might be a good time to introduce some new car toys to keep his hands busy.

Ok, thanks. I guess I won't worry about it too much. He does have car toys, but when he grows bored with them they tend to go sailing across the backseat. He's been watching us buckle him in for months and trying to figure out how to do it himself...he was pretty proud when he figured out how to adjust his chest clip up and down!
