I have a regular true fit that I'd like to move my dd into; so I'm looking for a larger carseat for my son. He is roughly 33 pounds (and short-ish). I'm looking to spend 2-300 dollars at the most. Is the comfort air the best choice?

We have an 18 month old who is 29 pounds and tall.  We plan to RF til age 2.  His Britax was 160 at Target on sale and it's great.

I asked this same question around here a while ago.  Seems like a shorter kid would last well in most of the 45 lb limit seats, but the Complete air has the tallest shell.  DD1 is over 40  inches and  35ish lbs and still can fit height wise.  She isgetting to the upper limit though (she has along torso).

Good luck

I love Evenflo Triumph Advance DLX, Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL, Complete Air. The Britax seats tend to not be for taller kids if you want to really extend rear-face (past 2).

The radians (80 and XT).  Which are not going to be marketed by Diono.

Dorel is adamant that the Complete Air should not be used rearfacing for children over 40" tall.

Yet many parents are quite comfortable ignoring that rule and making the parental decision to contiunue using it as long as the child meets the guidelines of head even or below the headrest as set forth in the manual.  Just like no one actually stops using the Snugride35 at 32" listed in the manual, but rather uses the 1" below the top of the shell rule (even techs will tell you that with the snugride).

what is dionio.?  I'm so out of the loop! I'm thinking that we will probably be sticking with the complete air. My daughter really hates her current infant seat so we are itching to make a purchase.

Diono is the new name for Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products, the makers of the Radian (65, 80, XT, XTSL)
