Having previously made a complete idiot of myself in this forum I am seeking forgiveness and redemption by asking for advice.
We recently had a debate in my DDC about the value of travel systems and a poster suggested that the carseats might not be safe after being repeatedly clipped in and out of the stroller and carseat base.
I have a Chicco Keyfit Travel System that I used with DS until he outgrew the bucket seat and we replaced it with a convertible car seat, which he is still using at age three. We are expecting another baby in May and were planning to reuse the bucket seat until the new baby outgrows it, then buy a new seat for either DS or the new baby.
However, I don't want to do this is it's considered unsafe to reuse this seat. I did use it on occasion as part of the stroller system and also repeatedly clipped it in and out of the base, but never placed it on a shopping cart and never checked it with the luggage, etc. I assumed it was still usable but thought I'd seek a second opinion.
Assuming it is not expired or damaged, the seat is safe to use. Using a seat as designed does not make it unsafe.
I don't remember you so it can't have been too bad
Your seat is perfectly safe and useable. It was *made* to be clicked in and out of stuff, swearsies.
