Hi all,

I just ordered new straps for my DD's Britax Marathon. I washed them once after she vomited on them, not realizing that I shouldn't do so. Anyway, so now I've got the new straps but I'm feeling totally freaked out about flame retardants, especially after the recent NY Times article, which suggests that they may be terribly bad for children and not very effective at retarding flames.

So, couple of questions-

Does anyone know what chemicals Britax uses on its straps? (Our seat was manufactured in 2008.)

Is there a way to safely remove the chemicals without compromising the integrity of the straps?

Am I crazy for freaking out about this?

Thanks.:)
