As new parents we are very concerned about toxins in our home and around our baby. We are taking every step possible to ensure that our baby grows up in the most healthful environment. While moving into a new home we wanted to carpet the upstairs along with the stairs, so that our baby will have a soft environment to crawl around on and cushion tumbles and falls. While on our search for carpet we were quite surprised at the amount of "greenwashing" going on in the market place. Many companies out there portray themselves as "green" or "healthy" when in fact the backing is loaded with chemicals, the facing may be natural wool and this is how they get away with it. After careful research we found a company who has been making natural non toxic wool carpet and rugs for over twenty years. They use British wool which is naturally fire and moth resistant. Their site gives you a straight forward diagram depicting the layers and construction of their products. Using natural plant derived rubber there are no harsh chemicals and their carpet is non toxic, however soft and durable. The life of their products is 20-25 years in an array of natural colors as they are undyed.

My husband and I have been extremely happy with our carpet and padding which we purchased through Earth Weave. While price is always an issue when you have a growing family, health and quality played a large part in our decision to purchase and we haven't had the first regret. This is truly a high quality product, made in the USA and completely natural and non-toxic.

We want to extend this information out there to other parents who are vigilant in the quest for healthful surrounding for their families.

Please take the time to look through their site at www.earthweave.com
