booster as a carryon?

We are flying on usair and I need two boosters at our destination, but we are not taking luggage. I've heard you can't take boosters on unless they are faa approved (these aren't), so I'll have to pay for them as luggage?? Is this true??

We've been able to take them as carry ons and put them in the overhead bins (backless boosters). You can not sit on them on the plane.

You also could invest in a couple of bubble bum boosters. Super easy to travel with.

Happily married to my dh, mama to ds1 (01/2005), ds2 (07/2007)  and dd (07/2009).

I called usair and they were great and allowed us to check boosters without a fee!

If you checked them with the luggage you need new seats. Have you seen how checked luggage is handled? Boosters and car seats can sustain unseen damage when checked with baggage, thrown around, buried in piles of heavy baggage, etc. It's not a safe choice for any car seat.
