I could use this to 65 lbs, right?

It's just not stickered that way for Canada? :

http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/child...06c08/menu.htm

Also, I tried to find out via google, but why is it a folding car seat? I realize it's a convertible (I'd like to buy one for my nb due in December) but folding?

Thanks any wise car seat gurus.

Um. This is where you enter the land of voiding a warranty & stuff.

According to the way it's tested in America & American standards 65lb is OK. According to the way it's tested in Canada & Canadainan standards 48lb is OK. If you are in Canada & you use it beyond 48lb my guess is you void the warranty. I don't know Canadian laws, but it's possible that it's illegal too.
Doesn't mean that it's unsafe to use though. . .

It's probably in your best interest to wait for a better response than mine though I could be off.

two things

1. Effective May 1 of this year (note that release is dated October of 06), seats that have been tested beyond 65 lbs are now allowed to be used to that weight.

2. The seats that are marked 48 lbs were tested to 65 lbs. They are the exact same seats that are sold in the US

Excellent! Someone had talked about this in another big car seat thread (Angela, I believe?) but I just wanted to make sure it was the same seat.

Thanks!!

But if you wait a couple weeks, the newly-stickered Radians should be at CT. They are clearing out the old 48lb stickers right now.
TJs has 65lb seats, but they are $229.
There you go. No legal issues.

And Throkmorton saves the day!

Thanks for the info; I'm in no hurry to buy the seat yet, so I'll wait until fall and pick up one of the new stickered seats.
