Does anybody know (ideally from personal experience) of any manufacturers of quality high chairs? I'm open to many options, including supporting a local furniture maker.

My DD is about to move to solids, and it sounds like I'm not the only mommy here fed up with the whole made-in-China fiasco! :

I have my heart set on a Peg Perego high chair. My cousin has one for her baby and I got to play with it at her house. So nice! And they are made in Italy, so hopefully lead free...

we skipped the high chair and went straight to a booster seat. It's far more versatile as DD is still using it at 3 yrs old. They are smaller, and less expensive, too.
