we bought our carseat yesterday, a snugride (well the second one actually- i was on the way back to my sis's house from my baby shower and got into a wreck- had to replace the brand new seat ) and dh installed it this morning. he put it in the center of our 2006 civic hybrid using latch, but when i went out to look at it, his car manual shows that the latch anchors are only in the outside seats. does that mean to have it in the center we need to use the seatbelt, even though he got a nice tight install using the latch?

Yes you will have to use the center seat belt if your car doesn't allow you to "borrow" anchors in the center, most don't. A correct seat belt install is just as safe as a correct LATCH install.

Yes, you cannot use LATCH anchors on a Honda center seat install. You will need to use the seatbelt
