Outside of buying the seat and throwing it in the garbage is there anything I can do about it? I was at the thrift store yesterday and there was an ancient booster seat there. I wanted to buy it just to throw it out, but our finances are tight as it is. WWYD? Should I have contacted the manager and informed her about it's dangers? I am not really much of an upfront person so it is hard for me to do.

I contact the manager. I just say "this seat is very old, and no longer meets safety standards. I would strongly recommend you destroy it, or let me have it so i can bring it to the local Safe Kids coalition where they would use it for training, not for transporting a child.

There are several thrift stores in my area that refuse to accept car seats and cribs because of recall/safety/liability issues. Maybe print out some info on how dangerous second hand seats can be and talk to a manager.

There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.
