I went in for my long awaited ultrasound today and there was nothing visible. I am supposed to be close to 9 wks so there definitely should have been something. I still have all my symptoms so my body hasn't recognized this as a loss yet. I really hope it happens soon. This is my second loss in a row so I am really hoping someone will take me seriously after this and figure out why this is happening. Anyways hugs to all you other mamas. Keep growing big beautiful bellies and hug them tight. Enjoy your symptoms and aches and pains and treasure this experience.

Any possibility the tech was having a bad day and just didn't find it? Was it abdominal or transvaginal?

As for finding out why... I've only seen a blurb about it, so I don't know what the evidence is or anything, but you might want to look up Fern Reiss's book "The Infertility Diet". According to her, avoiding ginger (yeah, ginger) and dairy can reverse infertility in some women, and/or reduce chance of miscarriage.

Thanks for all your hugs and care. Its been really wonderful. I do have a tilted uterus and its hard to know. I guess I do have a smidgen of hope at the back of my brain. I had a friend who went in for her 8 wk ultrasound and they couldn't see a thing, the dr encouraged her to "take care of it" the next day but she waited and had a beautiful little girl. So I am still waiting to see what happens even though I don't really want to get my hopes up too much.

I would probably call and request a transvaginal U/S just to be sure. Just tell them that you have tilted uterus and have heard that that can make it hard to see anything on the abdominal U/S this early....

I'm sorry if you are going to m/c. But I am hoping for you, too! Let's hope it was just a bad ultrasound. They definitely happen.
