Emmett (middle name Asilomar) was born Sunday, after 34 hours of labor. He is 6 lbs 14 oz, and 20 inches long, and darling.
After 25 hours of labor, which wasn't bad except for searing, unbearable back and leg pain, I was only 4.5 cm dilated, and in tears from the pain, so I had to go to the hospital and have Pitocin and an epidural. That was sad for me, but he needed to come out. I never fully dilated, even with the Pitocin, but I squeezed him out anyway.
We've held him every minute since Sunday; he gets hysterical if placed on his back alone. He's been hooked up to a very awkward machine for jaundice, so we have to hold him and the bulky equipment within 5 feet of the machine, 24 hrs a day. He doesn't seem to mind being trapped on the couch so much, but I can't wait to get rid of the stupid machine.
I'd post pictures but I don't know how.
