I have not been a good ddc member for a long time because I had a series of complications that resulted in a ton of medical intervention. I was upset about not doing things the way I thought mother nature had intended. Well after a serious cord problem I was induced on Friday and gave birth to a healthy 6lb 4oz baby boy. He was 21.5 inches and healthy. Check out the link to see my boy.

Congratulations!!

The picture of the cord really is amazing! I'm always thankful that the medical expertise is available for when it's *really* needed and that definitely looks like a legitimate case of need to me.

He's truly beautiful.... Way to go, mama!! Enjoy your babymoon!

Congratulations, Chris! What a beautiful little boy.

I was just asking dh the other day what the heck nature was thinking when it decided to grow a baby in a water balloon, hidden completely from view, with a long rope! I've heard of more cord "accidents" lately than I care to remember. I'm so thankful your complication was diagnosed early enough so that your baby boy was born safely. Amazing photos!

Congrats on your sweet baby boy; glad he arrived safely! Wow on the cord pic! My first DD had a double knot in hers, but it was also very long.

congratulations on your sweet little nugget! and that is *quite* the cord trick! an acquaintance of mine had that happen, but her son was also wearing the cord twisted around his shoulder and arm like a purse. yipe.

just think of what he'll be able to tell at parties: all the other kids will be twisting their tongues around, and he'll go over to the computer and say, "Yeah, but could you do [B]this[B] with your cord before you were even born?!!"

GL w/ healing and recovery.
