Or I guess it could be the third trimester trump card. Anybody else using it?

What is it you ask? I was being bitchy to my husband and he was irritated about it. I told him I was pregnant and in pain and give me a break. He said, "So that is going to be your trump card for everything?" And I said, "Yeah, as a matter of fact it is! Once I hit 40 weeks, that trumps everything!" (He later agreed with me btw!)

Now don't get me wrong. This is actually one of my pet peeves. We are very big in our household on taking personal responsibility for your actions and not blaming them on other people or conditions. But after that last tiff it has become kindof the joke around here that I indeed do hold the trump! All bow to the pregnant dictator Goddess!

Well, I'm not yet 40 weeks, but I have taken to parking where I damn well please. I make up my own parking slots at the school parking lot.

I am sure DH thinks I've used up my trump card enough already. And I'm only at 39w 1d. I'm freaking out about EVERYTHING. And somehow he has turned into the person I feel should fix everything that goes wrong. I am a nightmare to be around and I don't know how to stop myself.

Yep, my trump card is already worn around the edges. Do I get a new one when I hit 40 weeks?

Yes, I think we get 40 - 1 for each week right at the beginning.

And guess what? He is the one who should fix everything!

hmmmm....sounds about right! I was getting pissy about something last night and pulled the "I AM 40 WEEKS PREGNANT AND SO...." thing. I do really feel like my family should not mess with me at this point!! I don't want to be asked what's for dinner or if I am planning to go grocery shopping this week!!! Although I am completely capable, I would like to think I may have something more important to do....like have a baby! :

yeah I'm only 38 weeks and majorly pulled it last night
Our AC was not working, or well, it was acting like it was working, you know, blowing air, telling me it was on and set to 70, but it would NOT get cooler than 80 degrees (and its not like it was so hot out I was overworking it, it was probably only 85 outside.) As mentioned before, anything above 75 and I start swelling, painful, icky swelling that I can feel happening in my hands and face.
So I made my DH fix it. And then threw a hissy fit when he said he couldn't figure it out after 10 mins and sat down to watch TV.

We finally took out the batteries to reset the whole thermostat, that thing is wonky. But yeah, I totally pulled the "I'm 38 weeks pregnant and I can't tolerate this crap!" card last night....

the 39 week card isnt working for me so i am hoping either the 40 week trump card will work or the, i have to nurse a newborn and recover from birth Card will work.

the past two mornings he has layed in bed waiting to see if i would get up to let the dogs out and get the toddler. ARGH> i want to say, are you kidding me i am pregnant but maybe that doesnt mean much when its the 5th baby and he knows how much i hate when people tell me i can't lift stuff, or jog, or be really active. but that doesnt apply for sleeping in!!!!!!!!!

I love this theory. And, of course, there are the I-just-gave-birth cards for, what, maybe 40 weeks AFTER delivery too, right?

Poor guy. He DOES fix everything he can, calmly and pleasantly while I have tantrums that rival my daughter's. No, my tantrums top my daughter's. In fact, I've worried she'll learn from me how you REALLY throw a tantrum.

Okay, last night I pulled the "I'm 38 1/2 weeks pregnant" -- gotta get that 1/2 in there, like a little kid. I'm tired of the house being messy but don't have the energy to fix it and just felt like complaining about it. It doesn't get me anywhere, as in, dh doesn't spring into action. But he listens and sometimes asks what he can do to help.

I certainly plan to use the "I just gave birth and am nursing around the clock" card in the near future, especially if I end up having a c/s! Luckily my MIL will be coming to stay with us for a week and she's happy to do anything and everything that needs to be done.

Ah yes, the I Just Gave Birth Card. I forgot about that! 40 weeks sounds good for that too.

In all fairness, my DH has been handling literally everything around the house since my pubic pain got to the point I could barely walk. He just doesn't like it when I snap at him. Can you imagine?

I really feel for you mamas whose husband's aren't doing stuff for them.

I'll second that.

I am the crankiness, grumpiest, nit-pickiest pg woman around and I can't imagine what life in our house would be like if my DH wasn't the saint he is, holding us all together.

I should be counting my lucky stars, because I know there are plenty of pg women out there who aren't getting the support they need.
