I have heard of some bizarre ways to start labor over the years, but DH's boss came up with a new one. Even if it doesn't work, I thought you all might enjoy his "insight".

Sit on a dryer full of tennis shoes.

Yup, that's all. I suppose if you sit there long enough...

Hmmmm....maybe it's supposed to be kinda like driving down a bumpy country road?
I can't imagine jumping up on my dryer these days....

My friend is telling me to eat indian food with turmeric, says it worked for her. (not sure if it was on purpose though)

I heard that eating a lot of fresh pinapple will do it! (Tried it with my last pregnancy and it did not work!)

Lol! Hmmmm, I don't think that would do a thing for me other than make my butt bones sore from sitting on the metal dryer, but it's a unique one I hadn't heard of before!

Mama to 4 amazing little people, another little expected 3/6/12!

Hi,

Brand new to the site and due any day! The dryer thing would do about the same for me with the but bones and jumping on top of it would be a challange to say the least. My husband and I have been joking about my mowing the lawn on the rider. I told him if I did that he couldlook for me on Hwy 9 riding straight to the hospital!

Anyways, last two week checkups show 80% effaced 1 cm dilated. I've been taking evening primrose oil to help the dilation but.....my next appointment is the 18th and I'm hoping to be in the hospital by then.

You know you've been pregnant too long when that sounds like a good idea...

last time I was preggo my friend's mom said teh surefire way to get the baby out(I was 41 weeks and ready for anything) was to eat an entire large watermelon! I did, and it was delicious but gave me a bellyache! That's a whole lotta melon! didn't go into labor though!

my friend says sex is the best way to start labor, but between the baby being so low and me being so big, it sounds more like work than fun!

OK, maybe if I stop reading posts, get off my butt and start moving this ginormous belly around a bit...
