This is really cool... (I hope you think it's as cool as I do )...

My DH did our belly cast last night (he did one last pg and I love it, he did a great job) and when we took it off we were both AMAZED at the difference from the one we did when I was pregnant with our youngest. I have to share because it's seriously nuts.

Our youngests' was done at 38w 0d, this one was done at 39w 3d - the youngests' cast is on the left, the current one is on the right.

It's AMAZING to me that someone can carry SO differently given it's the same body housing the little person... we were solidly geeking out when we were comparing last night.

Anyways, onto the pictures... I lined them up EXACTLY fyi. (The second one shows it best).

Comparison #1

Comparison #2

I think that'll be interesting to see for sure - I think a lot of the time how they show and what they weigh don't correlate always. My youngest was quite big (biggest of my bunch by a pound and 4oz).

Those are really cool! I've done 2 belly casts with my 3rd and 4th, but at very different weeks so they really look different.

Very neat! Are you going to display them as they are (lovely) or add to them?

Assuming our baby stays in a little longer (feeling crampy), I, at the last minute, decided that I would desperately like to make one w/my DH tonight, but have never done it before and have no idea where to get the medical grade plaster gauze (or how much)? I've read the art store stuff can cause third degree burns. Can't have that! No time left to order a kit. Trying to do this last-minute and on a budget. Any suggestions you can share?

Wow!! That's such a cool difference!

We didn't make a new cast this time, but last night I "tried on" the one I had from Audrey and I couldn't get it anywhere close to fitting. When I settled the belly, the shoulders and breasts were a good 6-8 inches away from my body. It's so weird how differently we carry, isn't it??
