I had lots of cramping last night and started bleeding this morning...I had a weird feeling yesterday that something was wrong and took another pg test this am and it was really faint. Went to my "backup" OB (I go to him when I need something medical my midwife doesn't handle) just to give myself peace of mind and find out what was up and sure enough I had m/c'ed.

Here's a vent: this really crappy OB/Gyn nurse who booked my appt said as I was in tears "I would think that you would have called us by now given your history of low progesterone (its so not a history - I have only been to this place twice and both times they tested me in the beginning of my cycle before I ovulated) - we could have given you meds and saved your baby" - UGH!!! I carried my ds to term with NO MEDS thank you very much! And I was only 5 weeks!!!! With my ds I was told not to even come in until 5 or 6 weeks and this time I was going to use a midwife for a homebirth....grrr....

I think the hardest part was my ds (who is almost 3) who saw me crying and said "mama what's wrong? whats wrong?" (We had already told him there was a baby in mamas belly) I pulled him up on my lap and said "God decided that the baby needed to be back with Him for now. But its going to be okay and when God decides the time is right mama and daddy will have another baby." He just turned to me and said "Okay mama...then we are going to be okay...don't be sad." Sometimes I think God speaks to us through our children in little ways....

So I am sorry if this belongs in pregnancy loss...I just really needed to get this out....thanks to all you mamas out there who provide support to other mamas when we need it. Peace and blessings to all the mamas of July 2008 babes out there....

Christine, wife to my dh since 10/03, mama to my three monkeys ~:-) ds1/6/05, dd9/9/08 and ds 8/3/10

I'm sorry for your loss, but also sorry you had to deal with an insensitive nurse. :
It's not okay for you to be treated that way.

I'm so sorry, momma! That nurse needs to get a lesson in patient compassion!!! What a horrible thing to say.

Your son has a warm heart, i have found so much comfort in my children since my miscarriages. It has made me value them and reveal in their miracle.

There is a wonderful support thread in the Pregnancy after a Loss forum here, called Hope and Healing after a Loss. Please stop in to vent, cry, whatever you need.

I'm Deborah, mama to Aidan, 11/02, Sean, 9/04 (my T21 SuperBoy), and Eleanor, 8/08.

Oh, mama. I am so sorry for your loss. As difficult as it is, try and ignore that crud you dealt with (the nurse!). {{HUGS}}

I am so sorry for your loss.
and I totally agree--it's not ok for them to treat you that way. I've had similar insensitive people at my OBs office and the ER when I m/ced. it's awful.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is wonderful that your son had such comforting words for you. I'm also sorry that the nurse was so rude. There was no reason for that. I will pray for you.
