I'm really happy for the both of you. Reading your other thread made me feel very emotional, and I couldn't find words to express it so I never posted. You both have been and are in my thoughts.

Look at that tiny little sweetie!

Please forgive me, I do not know a lot about preemies, why do her eyes have to be covered up like that? Does that plastic wrap stuff help keep her warm?

Jenna in love with my DH Jon, loving our 2.5 year old, Caroline Tulip, and expecting another little one in August!

The plastic helps keep her warm... her eyes are covered for a few reasons.. She is under the photo therapy lights and the cover helps protect her eyes from that. Also so she isnt stimulated too much. Preemies get overstimulated quite easily. So they keep it low lights and low noise.

She looks just like her daddy though. I cant wait until her face is clear of stuff.

Im on my way to see her again right now.

Oh wow, I can see her tiny chest going up and down! It just amazes me to see her because it's like I'm looking at my own little one. Is the tube in her mouth the ventilator? Will you be able to hold her soon or is that a no-no with preemies? Congratulations on your little girl, she's doing fabulous!

Holding is a no-no for a while. I cant even touch her yet. Preemies just cant really tolerate much stimulation. There are two tubes in her mouth. One is OG tube to keep air out of her tummy and the other tube is the vent tube. She has lines in her umbillical cord and she has an IV. She has a pulseox on and a temp probe and I believe that is all. Until she gets off of the vent she will have the IV and be fed through that. She gets an electrolyte solution and fats. Im really in no hurry for her to eat by mouth though.. Sometimes their little guts have a lot of trouble when they start eating. So Im in no rush to see if she will have the problems.. and Im having supply issues. Im barely pumping anything now I was pumping more just a week and a half ago. Im hoping my milk comes in soon even if she cant eat it yet I want to get some stocked up for her.

Congratulations to you, your daughter is beautiful..
I remember when my youngest was in the hospital and he was next to a sweet little girl like yours, I would be amazed at the resiliency of the human body and how time would be the answer.

Normal with C-sections for some mamas to not have their milk come in for up to 10 days after birth....(I think 5ish days is avg for c-secs?) hope you can eat really well, lots of protein and water to help your body with the building blocks it needs to repair, heal itself AND produce milk. And if it's okay foryou maybe some omega 3 oil supplement.

Mum to DS (8yrs), DD (6yrs), and DS(3.5yrs). kid.gif

Yeah.. The LC here tried to tell me it was the same with vag births.. like 2-3 days. Yeah right. I guess its not helping that the horns I have are too small. They were supposed to get bigger ones yesterday but I dont know what happened. Today Im going to make sure they get them. Im pumping as I type this. Ouch ouch. Just wish I had my home stuff right now.

My pump log literally looks like this: (in mls) 10, 8, 5, 4, 2
