I went to work on Monday and ended up in the hospital overnight in PTL. Dont ask me how, lol. I was contracting pretty strongly for about 12 hours, but by the am things had slowed down. OB sent me home on Procardia, and I finish my last dose tomorrow am. I'm scared to have to stop taking it. I'm still having contractions, but not consistently. I feel like crap though, I know some of it is side effects from the med, I'm just wondering if the rest of it continues to be labor. I dont want to deliver this little guy over the weekend, cause my OB is not on call, plus, I'd like him to bake just a little longer(I'm 36 weeks). Has anyone else taken procardia? how long after you stopped taking it did you deliver? Please send this baby lots of stay put vibes for just a little while longer, please!

I'm from Sept DDC with a little one who is trying to come early. I'd get off the med and stay off if it was me, your term in a week and it is in essence a heart med and shouldn't be something your off and on.

When will you go into labour? Only g-d knows sadly. But the procardia isn't a 100% way of stopping it either

I dont post very often, but i felt like I should say something here. Why would the hospital try to stop labor at 36 weeks? 26 yes, but 36? that seems crazy. And put a woman on heart medication? it all seems so messed up...I really feel bad that you had to go through this....

We are planning our 3rd homebirth (5th baby) and midwife is fine with a 36 week labor and delivery. Even if she wasnt, at 36 weeks i (personally) would UC with just my husband and myself.

Not sure if you are christian or not, (if not please dont take offence) I agree with PP, only God knows when our babys are supposed to be born. HE determines thier birth dates. I pray that your baby stays put until 37 weeks so that you will not have go through medical hoops and interventions.

God Bless,

I'm not Christian just seen enough to know we can't seem to control these things.

If I get to 36 weeks I'd be happy and I'd let baby come whenever. Remember even 40 weekers can have probs, sometimes they come early cause they need to
