I think I had some Braxton Hicks yesterday but am not sure. I was having these back pains that sort of started at my rib cage and shot down to the top of my butt. Does that sound like BH? They are gone today so far but I feel very crampy in my pubic area and there is a ton my pressure on my pelvis in the front that wasn't there a couple days ago. I am trying to drink a ton of water to see if that helps. I am 36 weeks today so I would prefer the little one stays put for at least another week. Since this is my first I have no clue what BH feel like and what to expect as I near my due date.
Hmmm..... No idea what this could be as they don't sound like the BH I have (My whole stomach gets hard as a rock) or like my regular "doing something" contractions (my whole lower back gets achy and tight then it loosens up.) But like logies-mom said, they are different for everyone!
BH I used to call "inflating" - like someone was in my tummy inflating a balloon that made it very hard suddenly. Your pain sounds like it could be baby's position hitting certain nerves or maybe even baby dropping, thus putting extra pressure/pain in the pelvic area?
Just my thoughts.
My BH contrax sometimes feel like that--not like the CONTRACTION is going that far, but like the hardening of the uterus muscles is hitting nerves that go down into my back/butt. It doesn't feel like muscle pain; it's sharp. I think that can happen based on the babe's position, shape of your "bump," etc.
B/h tend to be toward the top of the uterus and makes your stomach hard like a rock. "Real" contractions tend to be on the bottom, and running down the inner legs, and if back labor usually on your tailbone and again running down your legs.
Sounds really more like a pinched nerve mixed with perhaps a b/h, but not a "real" contraction.
Gee I have had 5 labors, all of them were different. This sounds a bit simular to my last one.
Isn't it strange how labor can be different everytime in the same person. In fact this last time I was not convinced that I was really in labor until sometime about uhhhhhhh transition when I called my STBX husband and told him I wanted to shoot him for getting me pregnant. LOL
Thanks everyone. I had my OB appointment today. The midwife thinks it is just from the baby moving into position and my body 'making ready'. She said it could be BH but since they are different for each person it is tough to tell for sure.
