I don't remember being so prone to swelling up like a balloon with my last pregnancy. I am drinking 4 liters of water per day to stave off thirst - basically i am spending my day alternating drinking water with peeing! Even with all this water, I am finding that if I eat something particularly salty (the other night it was some tortilla chips) I blow up the next day with swelling and put on 2 pounds (I know I shouldn't but I can't resist weighing myself daily). Does anyone else experience this? I see my OB tomorrow and will ask him, but wonder how normal this is.
Also, since I had high blood pressure and swelling in the last trimester of my last pregnancy, I am doing the Brewer diet which says to salt food to taste. I am afraid to add salt to anything, but the diet makes it sound like salting your food is necessary. I just started the diet yesterday and wonder if it will help with this salt sensitivity. Any help is appreciated!
