Hey everyone,

I've read a few name posts here, but am name-obsessed so thought I'd ask again.

How many of you have settled on a name or have a pretty narrowed down list at this point? Anyone willing to share?

We are having a boy and our list of names changes daily. We really like Charlie--that's the only one that has always remained on the ever-changing-lists. But we also like Phineas.

we have picked out our girl's name, Naima (nye-ee-mah) but are having so much trouble with boy's names! And I am pretty sure that it is a boy. There are lots of options I like but my husband is being such a pain...doesn't like anything and won't allow any name that is held by a family member (and those seem like the only names he likes!) So, I have told him he needs to come up with several names he likes because he always vetoes my suggestions. All he has come up with so far is Soren, which I don't hate, but I worry might sound pretentious.

Since we are having a girl I'll share my boy names with you. I really like Callum and Lachlan for a boy as well as Rhys.

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

We've picked a name, but can't decide on a middle name and that's the name we're going to use for the baby. So yes I've picked a name, but it's sort of the one that doesn't matter lol

7th Heaven here we come! Due date early May

William Paul (named after our dads) --- Wip for a nickname since we couldn't agree on a traditional nickname and I don't want to call him William.

If the u/s was wrong and its a girl, we have a list. Zinnia, Lydia, Ruby, Molly. The middle name would be Zea (zee).

Not even close. We don't even have it narrowed down. Hopefully, we'll find out if it's a boy or girl on Monday and then we'll really start planning.

We aren't even close. We sort of have a "flavor" of name we both like, but don't even have a short list yet. Or a long one, for that matter.

Decluttering SAHM of three. Going for 2011 items in 2011.

We're not even close. I really love the name Neil/Neal so I think that may be our son's middle name. Our other sons are Bennett and *******, so it might be kind of difficult to pick something that "goes" with their names too. I was thinking Everett, but DH is kind of "meh."

SAHM to 3 boys ages 10, 7, and 3.

We've been set with a girl name since 8 weeks and a boy name since 18. This time around was so much easier for us.

We are having a girl and her name is Eleanor Ruby. For a boy, I was leaning towards Owen Reid or Owen Sebastian.

I'm Deborah, mama to Aidan, 11/02, Sean, 9/04 (my T21 SuperBoy), and Eleanor, 8/08.

We hardly have a list made of potential options. Our baby is a surprise (as all of them have been) and we usually take a list of names we like with us to the hospital to choose from after baby is born. Today I sort of like Nathan for a boy (which I am guesing it is) and really like Fiona for a girl. Dh does like Violet for a girl, but I am really stuck on Fiona, so it will probably be a boy, lol. I would like to read a baby name book and just have a name jump of off the page screaming "the one". But that has not happened and dh has not been very interested in discussing names. I guess we will eventually decide, lol.

Honey, Ken and I can't agree on anything. He wants him named after him, well, his family wants him named after him which would make him a 3rd. Not happening in my book.

I prefer Kendall Bernard. That's my compromise. He can have a first name similar to his and his middle name. Men, I swear....

I've been calling him Kendall for weeks now and are sticking by that name.

Bernard, Kendall's middle name, means "bear." I know its his father's middle name which is why you are choosing it, but I've always liked the name Bernard. (Totally out of fashion, but I love it.) And with this middle name you can call him "bear" as an affectionate nickname too which is very cute.

i dont want to be set on a name. i really want to feel the babe's energy and stare in his/hers eyes before i name it. but i wanted that with my first DD and i totally had the name set before she arrived. and for this pregnancy it feels like it is happening again.

girl: annalee
boy: orion

i hope i will be open to more than that when the time comes.

Not sure yet. I think we are going to have to see the baby. The middle names are for an aunt and mother.

We've picked a name: Calvin. Middle name will probably be David (which is a family name). We really like it, but I do worry that we settled on a name too early and it won't have staying power over the next four months.

Well, for us, the boy name was easy. If it's a boy, it'll get the family heirloom. My husband is Dan IV, so this one will be Dan V. If it's a girl however, we're in a bit of a pickle - we have a middle name Marie. It's the same middle name all the women on my mom's side of the family have (except my aunt, and boy was she upset as a young girl when she realized it), all the way back to my great-grandmother. As first name possibilities, we have Shannon (which he really likes) and Elizabeth (which I really like)... but we don't have one we both agree on. Oh well, I suppose something will come to us.

My 1st child was easy - at least the boy name was. I wanted to do something to recognize the roll my dad played in my life, so my son was named for him, and his middle name came from his great-grandfathers (unfortunately he didn't really know any of them). If we'd had a girl, my ex and I would have been in the same trouble I'm in now... no girl names.

Laura wife to Dan , BFing Babywearing RadicalUSing SAHM to my free range kid Craig (12/20/93) and eventual free range kid Danny (8/26/08)
