They do run in my family. My mom has them really bad as well as her mother and brother. Sadly they have popped up on my leg and now my crotch. I am going to try some herbal remedies that my midwife suggested-butcher's broom, comfrey, and marshmallow to make a paste to apply to my skin. I also am going to buy some support hose despite the heat in VA summers. And this thing... http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-PRENAT...713.m153.l1262 I need to add some Vitamin E & B complex too. Hopefully this will help!
I'm 31 and I have them too, now. They are on the backs of my knees and REALLY dark and ugly. My right leg just exploded with them in the last month or so. I am so self conscious, I guess it's capri's or longer for me from now on. As if that's not gross enough, I was getting ulcers on my ankles last year. Major circulation issues.
I posted about mine too. They looked so bad the doctor sent me for an ultrasound to check for blood clots. Thankfully, none. I did find out my valves dont' work properly. So I have the compression stockings, wearing sneakers around the house, taking vari-gone and have to get massages (like I mind) that push the blood to the heart. I am also using vari-gone cream.
I am 32 and this is number 4.
