awww yuck it started today. I feel like hell! any suggestions on how to get though this quick? What foods to eat or not to eat? My bottom is still sore so I have been trying to keep the food non-constipating but now i have the opposite problem.

This stinks

No idea on foods other than acidic things hurt worse in both directions, so you'll want to stick with bland. Having a ton of water will make throwing up less unpleasant, constipation less likely, and will be good for nursing.

That is a good question! But I think it is an intestinal flu since I have massive diarrhea and a awful stomach ache. My breasts are warm but without any hot spots or red spots and I am not running a temp from what I can tell but I have been taking motrin for the bad latch damage.

I didn't notice any red spots either when I had it. Just fever, shaky, etc.

You do have a higher chance of developing another infection because your immune system will be compromised.

I prescribe sleeping in bed, bone broths to eat, and Emergen-C to drink.

Try the BRATY diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast and yogurt) once you're able to keep foods down. I like to cook the rice in veggie broth - makes it taste a little better.

Also, if you are actively throwing up do not drink more fluids. Drinking while throwing up will just dehydrate you faster. It will not only make you throw up what you've just had to drink but will also bring up more fluids that might have stayed down.

Wait at least an hour after the last time you've thrown up and try keeping down a tiny bit of water or crushed ice. If you can keep it down for 20 or 30 minutes you can try more. If you start throwing up again then start over waiting to try again.

Hugs to you - that totally sucks! I hope you start feeling better very soon.

Oh no!
Try drinking some kind of vitamin or electrolyte water (gatorade, propel, etc.) and just go with bland carbs for food.
I hope this passes soon

When my stomache is upset like that I can only keep 2 things down. Tomato soup and grilled cheese. I know if you throw up it's not pretty, but for some reason it's one of the few things I can handle and I am a major puker :/

7th Heaven here we come! Due date early May

Just wanted to say ((HUGS)). We all have a tummy virus here, and my LO is 3.5 weeks old. It's bad enough... can't imagine dealing with this a couple weeks ago. You have my sympathies!
