Figured I'd get Wednesday's party started.
Still pregnant.
Having contractions every 5 minutes starting with nasty arse back pain to front hard uterus...
my midwife has not called me back its been a half hour...grr...
half of me just feels like walking into the L&D at the hospital...
i could page another midwife but....I've been doing this back pain contractions thing since 1am
HOPE IS DYING...I think I am just stuck in prodromal hell...

8 might be enough

That was me from 1:00am to 4:00am and now nothing except I'm feeling tired. Why does that seem to happen at night? No need for me to head off to L&D, maybe I'll visit IKEA instead to get some last minute house things.

Good morning... I had a rough nite, I kept waking up ,just really hot and uncomfortable. This morning I am crampy and feeling tons of pressure. We'll see. I'm going to take the kids for a walk to day so that might invite tis baby out!

soooo, any new babies?

Shiloh you sound like you are getting somewhere!

Is anyone actively trying for 8/8/08? That just occurred to me, that I should wait a couple of days before really walking too much.

I am going this morning to the car seat inspection place for attempt #2 at getting three carseats across the back of our station wagon. We went last week and they basically refused to install booster seats they'd previously told us were fine. (Long story.)

So, that's this morning. Then home to clean, clean, clean, I guess... though it seems so futile.

Decluttering SAHM of three. Going for 2011 items in 2011.

We are meeting the in-laws for lunch, then have some errands to run. Some clothes we got as baby gifts to return and going to try to exchange some plastic dr. brown's bottles for glass.

Then I have roller derby practice to go help with, but probably won't stay the entire time since I will be taking dd along with me.

I might try to convince dd that we should lay in bed and watch a movie in between the errands, since she will be up a little later tonight, and I would love a nap.

I am starting to think of aiming for an 8x3 baby...
except my hood is uber Chinese and well I am sure L&D will be stacked with sections and inductions...(*its almost impossible to sell a house with the number four in it here...people apply to have house numbers changed to anything even 3 1/2 rather than 4...sigh superstitions)

My midwife called she said I was right its prodromal as its real labour feeling just not progressing....gosh why so many dress rehersals! I am okay....she asked me if I felt comfortable drinking...so lol its 10am and I am here with a two ounce bottle of vodka and a grape gatorade...classy she told me to get some sleep...easier said than done but with zero last night.

And to think my biggest fear was a half hour long labour (half of last one which was an hour) GRR...

8 might be enough

Prodromal labor is sucky

Not much action going on here. I also didn't have much until the day ds was born...no prior signs at all so I guess it still could be any day.

My mom is getting here tomorrow morning and I think it would be cool to have an 8-8-08 baby but don't believe there is a whole lot I can do if baby isn't ready yet. Although... I may convince my mom to get out and do some shopping with me that day if things haven't picked up at all. The good thing is that there will at least be a few good days between my ds birthday and the baby's. I wanted them each to have their special day.

I had another crap night of sleep and took the day off work today. I'm super cranky, I don't think anyone likes me right now. I'm starting down the prelabor road as well, which really, really blows. I can handle being pregnant for a few more weeks if need be, but not on the amt of sleep I've been getting and with these contractions that come and go, intensify and wane without rhyme nor reason. <sigh>

Same. Contractions when I get up and walk around then they stop when I sit down. Lost a big chunk of my plug today.

Need to polish my toenails. Yes, I can still pain my own toenails. I have a doctors appointment in two hours. The man wants me to call him so he can leave work and join me. He knows it's the most boring appointments ever but he wants a break from his 12 hour shift.

Proof that I have boring appointments. Every appointment goes something like this:
MD: Urine looks great, blood pressure perfect, weight gain is wonderful. Any questions? Concerns?
Me: Nope
MD: Let's listen to that heart.

Then he reminds me when to go to the hospital and we go over my birth plan.
Then I go home.

Nothing happening in here other than a yeast infection :

We got our new big tub in so I get to use that with the boys tonight :
I also got a pedicure yesterday. That was heaven. I never thought my feet would be this soft again. I had yoga this morning and that is getting tough. I do have more energy through the day when I do it so that's good. I have lots to do today - cleaning, re-installing towel bars, puting away laundry. I went to the grocery store and Target already. Maybe I'm nesting?

nothing going on here either! (seems to be a theme today)

40weeks, 3days and counting.

OK, TMI - I've had 3 BMs already today, and the occasional braxton hick that will hurt.

I have a midwife app't today, and am having my first internal...not too excited about the internal, but looking forward to some information, and perhaps discuss some options.

I have a CT scan scheduled for the 15th (for diagnosing the extent of my Hodgkins cancer), and would like some quiet time before launching into chemotherapy.

anywhooo, hope everyone is enduring prodromal labour with all of the humour and grace that is possible in these trying circumstances....

I got a pedi yesterday too-feels lovely!

I've been pretty sleeping pretty well the last two nights-thank goodness-only one nightwaking to pee, and sleeping solidly otherwise. I haven't slept like this for months, and hope it means I'm resting up!
I'm stepping away from the "Where the heck is baby?" b/c it's not helping. I'm stressing, and I'm not even due til Friday, so whatevs. DH finishes work tomorrow for two weeks (yippee)! then is back to work for a week, then he begins his Master's in September. I'm looking forward to some family time.
I see my MW tomorrow-excited-as she's been on holiday for a month. I guess we'll be talking about HB plans (before she left, I'd decided on a hospital birth). Otherwise I anticipate the same boring appt's outlined by not now, ha ha.
Still have irregular contractions, still crampy, so who knows.

I took the day to rest and relax because my attitude lately has just been horrible and I've been really cranky for lack of sleep.

I still got up every hour or so but I feel pretty well rested. I went to bed officially at 1am and woke up officially at 3pm today!! I have ankles again! The swelling will go back up by the end of the day, though. I plan on lazing around and not doing anything, that will probably make me feel better.

As far as the baby goes...

Well, she is just a little stinker. She was WELL engaged a week ago (0 station), but when I went to my appointment yesterday we found that she UN-ENGAGED. I was wondering why I was having the foot-in-the-ribs feelings for the past few days when I hadn't felt them in weeks.. I figured she just grew but I guess not.

She feels like she's settled back down into the pelvis now, her bum feels lower in my abdomen and the rectal pressure is back.

Has this happened to anyone else? It seems so strange to me. Why would she un-engage?

Anyway, MW asked me if I wanted to have a cervix check because I've been really crampy for the past 2 weeks and I was all the way effaced at 36w when I had the false alarm. No progress, but I kind of figured that. I probably wont dilate until I'm in labor, that's fine by me.

I had brown spotting after the exam, which got me all excited until I realized that I had the exam and that's what it was from. My CM has been brown all night but is starting to clear up so it's probably nothing.

After all this excitement about the baby coming early after that one day that I had the prodromal labor, it looks like this baby is going to hang out for quite a while longer.

I am trying to hold off until a little closer to my due date (end of Aug) but I want to go so bad!

I have been sleeping a little better at night because I haven't been napping as long with ds during the day. Strange. But I guess it makes sense. I am just afraid to get in that pattern and then go into labor overnight after NOT having a nap. AHHH if only I had a crystal ball

I think mine may have done that, too. We discovered she was engaged at zero station last week when we did my GBS test. I have def. been feeling her on my bladder and walking has been harder. I've been peeing about every hour, too (night and day . Well last night I felt all sorts of kicking all over the place and it really felt like she was moving around. Then I actually slept for several hours in a row (until ds1 woke me at 3, then ds2 woke me at 4:30 - oh well). I feel slightly more normal and energetic today and walking is easier. So I think she's moved back up a bit. At least she's still head down and we're really not ready to meet her yet at 36 1/2 weeks.

I want to encourage those still pregnant to enjoy the good parts. I was just thinking that I'll never be pregnant again or feel a child grow inside me. That I'll never get to have that nice round tummy again. Or have a day old baby again. That I'll never get to experience the excitement of realizing you are in labor or wondering if this is "it"?

I know its so uncomfortable right now, especially in hot areas, but try to remember the good parts too.

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

Megan, you're right. I feel like in some ways I haven't really appreciated this pregnancy, I've been so caught up in the shock of it, and then the nausea, and then the worry, and then the aches and pains and name anxiety and everythign else... that I really haven't stopped to "smell the roses."

I guess I have 5 more days to try and savor it. This is my last one, too.

things to be thankful to still be pregnant for..
1. my inlaws are not on my couch
2. no afterbirth pains
3. no nipple issues
4. I can sleep if I could sleep
5. I am still round and pregnant not the postpartum princess belly
6. People are actually interested in how I am doing and have sympathy for me
7. People hold doors for me
8. no one is making comments about the baby, no one knows the name
9. no one is trying to kiss the babe with a runny nose...

8 might be enough

yeah, the selfish part of me hates this part of postpartum. Suddenly, we don't exist. ;-) that's what mdc is for though, right? haha

I ended up not doing any of my errands because my pregnancy brain forgot to bring the things I wanted to return after lunch. bwahahahha! then, on the way back home to get them, one of our friends called for a ride home from the ER. He has a kidney stone try to pass and was given an iv of diloted and obv. couldn't drive himself. Then we took him to the pharmacy and the grocery store.

When we got home, I let dd play with the neighbor kids that she adores but I usually don't let her play with (they use her for her bike and other toys!!) while I removed all 30 or so bumper stickers from my car that we are about to put on craigslist. BTW, if you ever need to do this, a hair dryer and spatula work wonders! I have had lots of energy today. I need to take advantage of this and get my floors mopped (and pack my bag), in case its a sign! If I could just get the dog to stop shedding, I would have to vacuum the bedrooms every day!
