Hi guys,

For an hour I have been having painful contrax, 2-5 mins apart, staying for about 60 seconds, perfectly manageable.
However a liquid is being discharged, a little pink in the beginning and now colorless to slightly yellow. I tested the PH value, it's way basic. It is leaking slowly, continuously. Am I supposed to call the doctor at this point??? I didn't expect the water to break before transition....

Thanks 4 ur help!

Btw my due date is September 7th... But I'm now 37 weeks + 1 day, so it would be fine...

Is this your first baby? If so, you could have quite a ways to go yet, even if your water has broken. But, you could call the doc anyway... you are still fine to stay home I would think for at least a couple more hours (until the ctrx get more intense), just no getting into the water as a precaution. I'm sure the doc will tell you to rush right in though, so you just sort of have to go with how you are feeling.

As long as you haven't had sex in the past 24 hours, it's most likely amniotic fluid. If you call the doc, they'll want you to go to L&D and get admitted. Since you're having contractions, you're most likely in early labor that will progress to active labor soon. If you go to the hospital in early labor, there's a chance that the change and the adreneline rush will stall your labor and cause you to need pit.

GOOD LUCK! :

Is it sweet smelling? Amniotic fluid generally has a sweet smell to it.

Sounds like you might be in the beginning stages of labor. Praying all goes wonderfully!!!
