That's what I found in my first real look at my diet too. Lots of empty calories that leave me hungry and without the things I need for a healthy pregnancy. Dang it, I like those things too. What's working for me is to have them a few days a week. I really like cereal for breakfast but if I eat it, I don't get full and eat again an hour later.

I can't imagine how hard it is to get enough protein being vegan. I thought vegan meant you only eat things that grow in the ground. I know some no doubt trendy vegan told me that a long time ago.

Looks like its time to start cutting out the juices and extra fluff calories, and focus on my protein, now that the m/s is lifting.
You have to remember though, most women need about 1750 cals per day then while pregnant an extra 200 - 300 cals. So about 2000+ per day is what many of us (unless we are nursing too) needs...

Ooooh so I am going to try to make Bryndzova Halushki. I had it in Slovakia (about 15 times in the 4 weeks I was there!) unfortunately Brynza cheese isn't available and I don't feel like making homemade halushki so I will be using gnocci, bleu and brie cheese and of course the crumbled bacon. This dish is to die for

Oh I know, don't worry, my count was only up until I leave work at 5 pm. It's hard to just sit at my desk and not grab snacks, so I wanted to know what I was going to eat realistically. I think I need to work on getting more good calories in, maybe switch that morning toast for something else now that I can physically stomach more things.

I barfed twice yesterday......and all I wanted was cottage cheese so I hate an entire 24 oz container of it yesterday. Then when I got home all I wanted was noodles so I had about half a bag of brown rice noodles with butter and a dash of salt. I can tell 2nd trimester is coming....the nausea has gotten so much worse.

^So sorry you're having a rough day!

Today I've had:

Carnation Instant Breakfast
Cinnamon Raisin bread
banana with peanut butter
Springfield Cashew Chicken from an AWESOME Chinese place. I've been craving it for weeks and was finally near it today. I got enough for 2 large meals and enjoyed every single bite of the first half! YAY for eating!!!!
ETA: dinner was a breaded fish filet and mac n cheese. I didn't eat very much though because I'm not very hungry.

Thank you Tara, very kind of you! I finished off another 24 oz container today.....and choked down a turkey sandwich. Everything stayed down amazingly enough.

this thread is like gastronomic porn to me right now!! I've been lurking and salivating at all those yummy things you all are eating!

I got pancreatitis almost two weeks ago and am stuck on a no-fat liquid/mushy food diet that is getting really unbearable. I'm vegetarian but I think I'd eat some straight lard right now if I could...

So I have not been able to eat and it be good on my body but I am trying. TODAY however I came across something that is sooooo good (to me at least). DH and I were shopping and went to get some cheese from the deli and they had... horseradish white cheddar cheese. It is so amazingly delicious with the leftover ham from Easter that we have!!! I love horseradish as my pap pap (grandpa) made it fresh every christmas and easter so it is just a wonderful find for me.

Today I had:
Decaf Chai, grits and eggs
Jelly beans (i know, not the best...)
The ham and cheese and I will be having some beer battered fish in just a bit with pierogies
And Im making a pizza for dinner
