It kinda makes me worry I'm not having healthy weight gain, but the HP says not to and that babe will be fine.

Even though I haven't gained any weight, I'm starting to hate the "rolls" that are drooping on either side of my belly. They was a slight pooch there before getting pregnant and now it seems to really stand out now that I've got a belly overhanging it. I might get one of those belly bands. Not because I want to support my belly, but because I'm so vain about my poochy that I think it might hold it up a bit.
At my 25 week appt this morning, I'd gained 6 pounds since the last visit, which makes my net weight gain 4 pounds. I feel good that I've finally done what my body is "supposed" to do. Hopefully I won't gain too much now.

I had my 28 week appointment today and I still haven't gained. I actually lost another half pound. I'm measuring on target but the dr has me coming in for an ultrasound in 2 weeks just to make sure the boy is growing ok.

It's weird, I'm eating whatever I want. I'm just not all that hungry.

So far I've gained a whopping total of 6 lbs, lol. I'm happy with that considering that I lost almost 30 in the 1st 3 months. At my last OB appt I had gained nothing and was still at 143 like I was at the appt the month before. Oh well, It's nice to know I had about 10 lbs per month to play around with for the rest of my pregnancy, lol.

I'm 23.5 weeks and have gained 5lbs, 1.5 of those in the past 2 weeks, so I'm starting to gain. I need to watch myself, though, or I may just shoot up the way I did with DS.

Yeah, I can finally post here! Today was my 25 wk appt and my midwife brought a scale, so this is the first time I've weighed myself all pregnancy. So... 25 weeks and 14 lbs! I'm happy with that.

I found out yesterday at my Dr. appt. that I gained 7 lbs. in the last month. That makes my total this pregnancy 15 lbs. He would like for me to not continue to gain 7 lbs. per month. I guess I need to cut out the sweets I have been craving the past month, I was doing good until then. I forgot to mention I am 28 weeks.

If you were to gain 7 per month, that would put your total JUST past 35 lbs... which IMO is normal gain...

At my mw appointment, we realized I'd gained 12 lbs in a month! Yikes! She really emphasized watching what I eat, limiting sweets, drinking water, and getting regular exercise. So, I'm a new woman. I've got new goals and am trying very hard to limit sweets.

My total gain so far for 28 weeks is just under 30 lbs. I'm hoping I can maintain a bit for a few weeks. I don't know why I dread gaining more than 40 lbs, but the way things are looking I just might.

Dont feel bad babycakes...I've gained right around 24 lbs ----eek! I really don't want to gain much more than 30-35 so I better watch it!! It was hard to loose that weight last time and I gained right at 30! My hubby is in the National Guard and is away for the next 8 weeks so I've been eating a little more than I should for comfort....I need support and food happens to be it!! I guess I need to start walking more

I saw my MW Friday and I have gained 20 lbs at 27 weeks... I feel great. I do feel the extra weight though. I hope I don't gain too much more just for my own comfort... I'm only 5 ft tall!

Currently up just over 16 lbs at 27 weeks... it's hard to avoid the scale at work, I jump on it at least a couple times a week, I don't know why I torture myself. I haven't been eating well the past couple weeks, way too much junk, and I can see the difference in thighs/hips/lower back - kind of depressing. Let me make a disclaimer that it's only depressing because I know it's coming from the amount of fast food we've been grabbing while on the run lately, and not from normal pg gain.

30 weeks now and up 20 pounds even. I'm a lot less stressed about weight gain than I was a few months ago. I've been eating well and drinking a ton of water. I feel like I'm doing exactly what I should be since I feel really good and have no swelling at all.: How is everyone else doing?

I thought I'd post, maybe my gain will make everyone else feel better.

At 28 weeks I'm up 45 pounds.

I've gained nearly 50% of my original weight. It's a little scary, but I'm pretty sure it's what is right for me. It has been a very steady gain. My midwives are unconcerned. I'm measuring completely normally..no swelling..passed my GTT..I can still get size 4 jeans up over my butt (no buttoning, of course). WIC recently let me switch to whole milk because they have me down as an underweight risk. Ha!

Based on my weight gain chart I think I'll end up gaining 60 total.

I'm up about 16-17 lbs at 30 weeks, so not too bad. I'm happy with it. I feel like I've actually lost a bit of weight in my arms and legs--some of my clothes are fitting more loosely. No complaints about that, as I was "fluffy" to begin with

I freaked myself out yesterday. I've had little appetite lately, and decided to weigh in yesterday morning. By my estimate, I'm up 6 pounds for the pregnancy, and I'm at 29 weeks this morning. I don't know what pre-pregnancy weight I told my MW, but last appt. I'd only gained a pound in a month. She's of the school of thought that a woman should gain 40 pounds in a pregnancy, which I definitely will not do at this rate. Who knows? Perhaps a voracious appetite will finally kick in! If I could just pack on the pound a week from here on out, I think I'd be doing great! We'll see.

I've gained about 8 lbs total, at about 31.5 weeks. I was heavy to begin with though, and also lost some from morning sickness. One doctor I saw said I should gain the average 25-35lbs, but I had read that heavy women could gain less, like 15-25.

Seriously, it is hard for me to read all the posts about people gaining very little. It makes me wonder why I am programed to gain so much?

I gained 44 lbs with DD. And this time I am 30 weeks and have gained around 30 lbs. At this rate I am up for another 10-15 lbs gain so 40+ lbs it is....never did lose it all last time either

^ Please don't compare your gain to anybody else's gain on here!!!! You will gain what your body needs mama~ Believe you me, I am not SUPER happy about what I estimate to be about 30+ pounds at 31 weeks, but I know that I am eating healthy most of the time, drinking lots of water and eating lots of protein and if this is what MY body needs then so be it. This weight will come off eventually, especially with breastfeeding/pumping for two kiddos here

I'm up just under 17lbs at 29wks. I actually lost about a pound and a half last week. My original "goal" of 25lbs doesn't seem very possible at this point. The weeks where I gain are always 2lb gains and at that rate I'll be well over my goal with 11wks to go.

I totally agree with Maryann....you can't compare your weight gain to anyone elses because everyone's bodies are different. As long as you're eating correctly with all the protein and water then your body will gain what it needs to gain to keep mama and baby healthy.

Turtlemum, don't be discouraged. Believe me, I'm right there with you. It IS hard to see how little some gain while I can't seem to stay within what I had hoped to gain for this pregnancy. Everyone is different, their bodies and their babies needs are different. It stresses me out to look at the scale. I've gained probably 20 pounds total, but that was my goal for the entire pregnancy (I started out heavy). But at the end of the day, it's all about whatever this babe needs from me. I'm not gorging on Ben & Jerry's or eating McDs/BK/KFC/whatever every day, so I know it's not that my diet is out of whack. But I do get it.

But seriously - has anyone else gained like 10 pounds in her boobs alone? REALLY, these babies are out of control! I'm about to go bra shopping for the THIRD time since the PPT. I'm guessing it's because they're getting ready for the babe - I've been leaking for about a week. I tell you though, if they grow anymore... I don't know what I'll do!

I'll find out Thurs. how much I've gained at 28/29 weeks, but I was up almost 25 pounds at 26 weeks (!) so I'm on track for 40 total... it's so hard not to compare/be concerned about the weight gain - we are so programmed to be afraid of weight gain it's crazy to watch the scale inch up & up & up...I'd hoped that pregnancy would be a break from any insecure body/weight issues but it isn't, sadly... We're still bombarded with "average weight gain" figures and air brushed images of pregnant Hollywood.

But I have to second (third?) what's already been said above - its what our bodies are meant to do. I simply have NO control over how much I gain.
I eat healthy, balanced meals and drink water and exercise at least three times every week. And yet the scale inches up. It's amazing, actually. And, sure, its also super disconcerting sometimes.

I think that a lot is water weight gain & boob gain to be honest. I get pretty bloated even when not pregnant when I've PMS, so it didn't really surprise me that I gained 5 pounds in the first trimester alone.
Also I realize that i probably didn't eat enough all the time before I was pregnant. I mean, there would be times I'd be hungry and just be able to hold off for hours until the next meal - obviously that doesn't fly with the ravenous hunger I've felt being pregnant! :

Anyway, thanks for letting me go on and on here.

I gained 8lbs in the last TWO WEEKS, putting me at 20lbs total at 29 weeks. How do you gain 12lbs in 27 weeks, and then 8lbs in two weeks??? And man, do I feel it. My back, feet, hips and pelvic bones are screaming. I'm fine with my weight gain so far, esp since I gained 40+lbs with dd, but man does it hurt!

Jenn, YES! I'm up from a C to a DDDD (yes....4 D's). I don't look that big but that's what fits! (I'm only a 30 band). They feel so heavy and when I sit and lean back they touch my belly.....uncomfortable. I've been leaking since 15wks and I just can't imagine what size I'll have to buy when my milk comes in. SHEESH!
