Ooh, soon, I just googled it:

A typical prenatal care schedule for a low-risk woman with a normally progressing pregnancy is:
Weeks 4 to 28: 1 visit per month (every 4 weeks)
Weeks 28 to 36: 2 visits per month (every 2 to 3 weeks)
Weeks 36 to birth: 1 visit per week

Next week I'll be 27w4d at my appointment, so from then on I'll see my midwives twice a month. Neat!

Carrie SAHM to Nora Caitlyn (5) and Finnley Dax (2) homebirthing, breastfeeding, babywearing, intactivist, doula mama!

My mw's have never done a bi-monthly appt. It's always been once a month until 36w we go to once a week.

I just turned 27 weeks yesterday, and have my 28 week appt next week. I think that's when my 2 week appts start. After that it's 2 weeks until I think 37 weeks, and then once a week.

I think it varies depending on where you are. Here I start seeing the doctor every two weeks at 32 weeks, then every week after 36 weeks. I'm not sure if the midwife has the same schedule or not. Of course, she's much more flexible anyway, so we'll see.

I'm not sure what this OB does. I just had to switch due to some extenuating circumstances. I had an appt. today and was supposed to go back in four weeks but my OB will be on vacation. I will go back in 5 weeks which will be 29 1/2 weeks. I would think I would go every two weeks after that, but I'm not sure.

Yup, 28 weeks here, then weekly at 36 weeks. That said, my next appointment is tomorrow at 25.5 weeks, and I hope she suggests the next appointment be at 29.5 weeks, not in just 2 weeks at 27.5. In fact, if she tries to make it for two weeks I'll politely tell her no. I fully expect to go late with this little bugger, and do not want to have to start going more frequently any earlier than necessary.

I believe my midwife said at about 28/29 weeks we'll go bi-weekly.

28 here too. The MW I was seeing before here does biweekly the entire pregnancy. When I made my last appointment with the OB, I told the receptionist 4 weeks but for some reason she booked it 6 weeks later. I didn't say a peep. Works for me.

Oh I dread the appts getting closer together, lol. I have to travel an hour one way to see my OB so the cost of gas is REALLY gonna get to us. Man, about 4 more weeks. *sigh*

My midwife does a lighter schedule. Its once a month until 37 weeks and then every 2 weeks until the baby is born. Studies show that more visits at the end of pregnancy don't change outcomes. I acutally only meet with the midwife 7 times prenatally unless there is a problem.

(I think that after 42 weeks she does go to a weekly schedule- but I'm hoping not to go late!)

I totally forgot that soon we'd be going every 2 weeks. To be honest I'll likely book them farther apart. It's too much hassle to get the car (hubby commutes an hour each way). Otherwise I love my midwife and would visit her everyday if I could :P
