My friend who owns a CD/babywearing store/website says they're great and echoes what you have heard about them. I'm just not feeling the wrap love.

As far as knowing when it's real labor: my MW told me something I'd never heard (but it makes sense) which is that you can tell it's true labor if your nipples are erect during contractions that are regularly spaced, because of the oxytocin in your system during real labor. She says you won't read this anywhere, but it's been her experience over her many years of practice. So for those who are wondering when it's "really happening" that may be an extra clue...

Also, my MW says the pineapple has to be fresh, otherwise it does not contain the enzyme bromelain which softens connective tissue, i.e. ripens the cervix. But it couldn't hurt, if you love pineapple anyways, right?

which wrap are you looking for? i have one. they are just different than the moby wrap (which i had too but sold after ds3 outgrew it). i have the one w/ the dragon flies..its green.

i think tehy are prettier than teh moby but i like the stretch of the moby for newborns.

i had a MW and chiro appt today. the baby's head is down sooo low. omg both were surprised. DP wants me to go at least 2 more weeks b/c of work. we shall see.

almost done w/ the painting. had to get another gallon today and will work on that tonight. trying to keep everything organized. house cleaner is coming tomorrow so hopefully that will go over well..never met her before. also need to increase freezer stash....hope to add at least a few dinners to that before tomorrow.

I had an ultrasound today and guess what....THEY COULDN'T FIND THE MASS!!! I am so happy right now and so relieved. They said that it could still be there and they just weren't seeing it but any ultrasound I have had with this pregnancy they have picked it up right away. Also, the mass always had a blood supply to it and they used the u/s to look at all the blood flow in the baby and they didn't pick it up that way either...so frickin happy! Besides that they said that the baby looks wonderful...the fluid is great, the heart is perfect and the baby is just shy of 6 pounds and in the 31 percentile, which means *insert big sigh of relief here* the baby probably will be about 7 - 71/2 pounds. The baby will still have a bit of testing when it is born (ultrasound, MRI, etc) and we will probably be meeting with a pediatric surgeon but who cares because if there isn't a mass, there isn't a reason to have surgery!

Alright...I'm going to go and dance around my living room right now because I'm so happy and relieved!

Orionbelt that is wonderful news! I am so incredibly happy for you, your baby and your family!!!

Passionate, I want the purple one named Aphrodite. I was going to buy like a solid brown one on eBay and was so excited because it was only like $6.50 until like 15 minutes before it ended. Then it sold for $39 plus $6.75 shipping :

Wife & Mama to Two Loving Kids DS1 (7/7/07) DS2 (925/08) and DS3 (6/28/12)! And our new furbaby puppy Koda!

OH! That's SO wonderful! I can only imagine how relieved you must be! I'd be dancing around my house too! What a fantastic u/s! I wish you and your LO the very best and hopefully surgery is no longer an issue! :

I got an original Moby and put it on with a teddy bear and I agree it's difficult with the belly but I can tell it'll be fantastic when I'm carrying baby in it instead of in my tummy.

What a tremendous relief, Orion! Yeah.

What happened to our threads yesterday? They positively exploded, and I am already out of MDC time. This will be my only post for the day. Still, it looks like we are all getting into some serious changes going on in our bodies. That's amazing.

I'm off to my MW today, and since this baby has dropped and is "sitting" on my lap a lot more, getting up from a seated position is well nigh impossible, but I'm breathing much easier and not getting roaring heartburn from something as simple as an asian pear!

Well, have a good day, everyone.

Lately I've been spending a lot of time online... I don't watch TV and I'm too tired to do much of anything outside. My house is clean... nest is ready. So here I sit.

That's the kind of wrap I'd like to get for this babe. I have 2 woven wraps, but think a stretchy one would be great for a newborn, especially if we end up EC'ing from the start. Which print are you looking for? ETA: I just saw your reply that it's Aphrodite; let me see if I can find it.

Here is one place, not sure what shipping would be.

I've ordered from here before so I can vouch for them and they seem to have it in stock.

Thanks so much for the links!!! I think my mommy is going to buy me one. Of course if that doesn't happen I still have a month after bb is born until it will be needed, so I can build up some extra $$ first!

Wraps scare me. I just don't think I'm coordinated enough for one. (No, seriously. Trust me on this! ) I do have a pouch thingamajig, and have told my parents exactly which babyhawk I want.

janasmama - I got the grapefruit seed extract you recommended, and have taken about 4 doses of it so far. Not sure I can do a fifth. That stuff is NASTY! Even orange juice doesn't cover the taste!

You can do it girl! It's just a small amount of time to experience yuck for a huge benefit.

Right there with ya! My house is clean, nursery is done, setup by my bed is done, laundry is caught up. I'm only working 6 hours a week and I think this is my last week of that so, here I am!

Maryann, I hope your appt goes great today! I'd pack some things for your LO even though he'll be in the NICU. Maybe he'll be allowed to wear something of his own long enough to take a pic in something other than hospital gear?

AAM: I have a hair appt today at noon and we're leaving town this afternoon for a visitation this evening. It'll just be a down and back trip though because DH has to work of course tomorrow morning and we won't be staying for the funeral. So, I'm off to shower and get my day going. You all have a wonderful day!

I totally would. You'll definitely want to dress him in his own stuff if they'll let you. Can't hurt to have it ready! Good luck with your new OB.

Well, NOW you tell me! I must not have looked too hard, 'cause I didn't see it in tablet form. And I'm just too gosh darn cheap to go back to the store and buy more supplements. Oh well. I'll keep it up as long as I can, but if I can't stomach taking it any longer I'll just stop. I've plenty of other tablets and capsules to keep me occupied!

But, but... it's a big yuck! Honestly, I will try to keep it up, it can't hurt. Now, if I hadn't already tested positive and was just trying to keep from doing so, I probably would have quit it by now...

I had a hell of a time covering up the taste too! I tried Gatorade, milk, apple juice, OJ...YUCK. It's definitely nastiness. I finally discovered that putting it in my protein "shake" (just milk and strawberry protein powder) works AWESOME. I can't taste it at all. GL!

ETA: I didn't know it came in tablets either! I only saw liquid at our store. The supplement specialist there recommended this particular one for me. I guess it doesn't matter because I figured it out.

You should pack a couple of things. If you have any kimono type shirts that would be best because usually they have those little sensors (I can't remember what they are called) on their bodies so when they fall off it's easier to get to them without disturbing the baby too much. I liked having some of our own clothes when DS was in the NICU, it made me feel a little more 'at home.'

Nope, the tablets are the same brand and everything. They're pretty cheap and worth having on hand in case you suspect thrush too.

Phew-- I feel like I'm finally getting to a place where I feel okay if Christopher were to come (barring it is in a week and a half ) I FINALLY found a pediatrician, we meet tomorrow, so hopefully it works out. I wrote all of the thank you letters for the baby shower and I sold a ton of Lailah's old clothing so that isn't cluttering up the house anymore. I also got out my fall/halloween decorations today and my DH helped organize the garage too! Tomorrow (or Sat.) I'm planning a marathon cooking session to get some postpartum meals put away and I've met with my doula!

Looks like everybody else is doing fairly well and lots of -GBS' too!! Congrats mama! I'll take my swab at our group 36 week appointment, wish me luck it is Thursday!!

Great news on the negative result, Tiger Lily!

AAM - I had a wonderful mw appointment today! Baby is measuring fine, heart rate was 140 and going strong. My mw offered to check me, but I declined. I think "knowing" what my cervix is doing at this point won't change anything, but may only disappoint me or get my hopes up too high. She reminded me it's not like I'm overdue or anything. We had a good conversation about family planning after the baby comes, too.

Funny thing though, as I was leaving and making my appointment for next week, she casually asked if I wanted to make an appointment for the week after (my due date) and I quickly said no! She laughed and made a joke about how I'd break my own waters if I had to since I know what I'm doing! She said she knows people like me when they come through the door, people that aren't afraid of their own bodies and aren't afraid to touch things and get into the nitty gritty! I thought that was so funny and laughed and laughed - obviously it's all in regards to the fact that I keep telling them I'm checking myself and know what my cervix is doing. LOL, just thought it was funny.

Went for a good walk today with DH for about 45 min, totally exhausted myself but it felt SO GOOD to get fresh air and exercise. I also had a big bowl of spicy cold sesame noodles. Feeling kinda crampy and having lots of BH's. Feeling proactive at this point.

I had a MW appt. today and got the birthing tub. She kindly is letting us use it as a gift and not charging us a rental fee. I offered to pay for the liner since they are $35 but she wouldn't let me.

The baby's heart beat was really good which makes me happy because I haven't had much movement at all since early last night. Maybe the baby is just slowing down to get ready for labor.

I need to get my DD's party favors done and I think I'll start tonight...I'm making ribbon wands for the girls and origami flying airplanes for the boys.

I'm sure I won't have the baby this week and I'm hoping I don't so that I can get DD's party done which is on Saturday.

We did get DD's carseat today so now I can wash the cover to the convertible she has been using and get it installed RF'ing for the baby.

Orionbelt: Wonderful news! I'm so happy to hear that. :

Congrats to all of you with negative GBS, too! I was supposed to get my results today, but I forgot and apparently the doctor did, too. I guess I'll call them tomorrow and find out.

Otherwise, the appointment was really great. I'm making progress with 2 cm dilation and I'm 75% effaced (last week it was 1.5 and 50%). Calla's little head is at station zero. The doctor said she thinks the baby is probably over six pounds but less than seven. Sounds good to me. Everything is going nicely. My doctor is thinking another week, but of course she and I realize that it could be longer. Either way is fine with me, but it's kind of exciting to imagine that the baby could be here that soon. We're ready when she is.

Tomorrow night my in-laws are taking DH and me out for my birthday dinner (my birthday isn't until Oct 12, but the reasoning is that I won't be able to go out for a birthday dinner around then). I'm looking forward to that and just relaxing and waiting for baby. Been playing with the bead swap beads some, they are so pretty.

Anyway I hope everyone's week is going well. Take care.

I'm GBS Negative!!!!

Orionbelt- : Wonderful news! I am sooo happy for you! :

Baby's head is down nice and low, and my feet are still not swollen, blood pressure is good, baby's HB is right between boy or girl!

I'm sleeping better, and since my chiro appt on monday, I'm in much less pain.

Babycakes- My DH loved the Mei tai (babyhawk) and carried DS in it easily. I prefer the mei tai myself, a wrap is a bit suffocating for me.

Good news all around! Thanks for the idea for the babyhawk for DH, those are SO COOL!

AAM - I am going for another walk today, hoping to help things along. I know, I know, I'm not even 39 weeks yet, and I shouldn't be complaining about still being pg! I'm actually not really feeling all that uncomfortable these past two days, I'm just feeling really impatient and I want to meet my baby. Selfish, I know. But I cannot help it.

I'm bummed b/c my best friend has planned her engagement party for October 11. I'm one of her matrons of honor, and I don't feel comfortable going. Playing devil's advocate, even if the baby were to come today she would only be 2 weeks old, and I could not justify bringing her to a party at a strange house full of strange people. Even if I were feeling up to snuff for a party, I couldn't do that to my baby. Ykwim? So, I'm bummed about that. I really am so happy for her engagement and wish I could go.

Hmm, otherwise, nothing new to report. Hope everyone is having a good day!
