Hi,

We've been enjoying our lesson-free days for quite a while, and although my 6yo ds is learning so much, he does seem to enjoy activities that I organize for him (as long as they aren't schoolish).

For example, he loved the butterfly habitat we ordered and expressed pure joy out of the entire experience.

I feel like I get so busy preparing whole-food GF/CF meals/snacks, caring for his toddler brother, and doing many other things with them that I know they are learning from, but I also know that he enjoys my facilitation.

I've read so much about the theory of unschooling and natural learning, but now I would like suggestions of activities that I can offer my ds that other kids around his age enjoy doing.

I especially would love a resource that organizes activities into categories, like math, lang arts, science, history, art, etc., so I can offer him well-rounded ideas. While I undertsand that learning doesn't fit neatly into categories, I would like a well-rounded list to draw ideas from.

I just grew up in a houseful of girls and many of the activities that I enjoyed growing up don't really appeal to him. And so many activities for learning books are directed towards younger children. I'd love some guidance for things that we can enjoy together.

Thanks for the help!

The Crafty Crow is doing an around the world tour this month with crafts, activities, printables, books, recipes etc.

Exploration Station has fun science activities. Other science blogs can be found here (explor the links to her other blogs as well.) At Home Science is good too.

Think has fun challenges - good for a rainy day.

I love Toad Haven for inspiration and links.

One of my favorite blogs is Ordinary Life Magic. She has a daily blog, where she records what they do each day, as well as this one filled with amazing ideas for science experiments, arts and crafts, etc. The latter is also filled with links to great websites for even more ideas. I've gotten so many fun ideas from her blogs. Hope this helps!
