We've had a couple days of cold (the deck rails were white with a light covering of snow on Tuesday morning...everyone is carrying on about the "late season freeze" even though it happens every year! Also, we have the most amazing green landscape and spring flowers! Usually our "spring" starts in late May or June, but we've had significant amounts of rain since March, so we could have (depending on the monsoon), six, seven, or even eight months of green this year! (I could get used to it.) No one out here remembers a spring like this, so I'll just soak up the green while it lasts.
Daughter moved to the house a couple of days after it was legally ours, and I've hardly seen her since: I go to town on Wednesdays and Fridays as usual, with the car stuffed full of things, and pick her up for our run to the other town, and then take her to the store for frozen dinners (husband grouted the ungrouted half of the counter but it isn't sealed yet, so she can't use the stove), and then I come home. She has two dogs and a cat there now, but next week she has a house sitting gig in the far town, so one dog and cat will come back to us and the other will stay with her friends.
This morning I cleaned out the hall pantry...have been taking things to the house bit by bit, enough to pull everything out, put the wire shelf in the living room (I can take it apart if needed, but hoping that it can be taken in one piece) swept it out (aided by Guest Big Dog, who found lots of pet food particles), put all the pet food boxes and bags back in, and stored the people food in various places in the kitchen. Our house looks pretty much as it always does, although even messier, but the closets are starting to get emptied. Moving from the inside out?
