I'm glad to hear it's working out so well for you!

For about 4 days now I have been on a new experiemtn with letting dd's activities be completely self-directed--like I don't suggest things for her to do. Too often I think I was suggesting/setting up more educational type things, and she may have felt that as pressure, and was possibly being turned off quite a bit.

So far, I am amazed by her creativiity...I'm thinking I could have just skipped that whole song and dance from the beginning and trusted her to direct her own time wisely...
The unschooling forum is being considered, and will likely be added the next time they're ready to add new subforums. In the past, when they added subforums, they had a whole bunch "in the queue" and when they were ready to add forums, they added several at once. They need to get some technical stuff taken care of before they'll be ready to add new forums, and there's no telling how long that might be.

Just by having this thread, and the speed at which it's growing, lets the MDC PTB (powers that be) see that there's truly a need for an unschooling forum.

In fact, I'm going to start a new thread in a few minutes, I think we've grown past the point of "monthly threads" and need to do "weekly threads" (but of course first I'll check to see if anybody else has already started one) and then I'll post the link to the new thread on the end of this one.

OK, here's the link to the new thread.

That's cool. I did buy the house we have right now with the idea that, if my dad couldn't live by himself, we'd have room for him.
