Recently, Will Murray, one of the "behind the scenes" guys on Howard Stern's radio show had a son enter his life. Howard has been anti-circ for quite some time. He speaks against it on-air, comparing it to mutilation. He always said he wishes he had a foreskin, etc.
Will's job is to pre-interview the guests, and gather information for Howard to use during his interviews.
Before the baby was born, Will did a lot of research, asked a lot of people, and saw information for both sides. Apparently, he was "on the fence" for quite a while.
From the show:
Howard said he's against it. Howard said he doesn't believe that they should do that. Howard said it's absurd that they do this for religious reasons. Howard said there is a purpose for everything and mutilating a baby is not a good thing.
Howard said that everyone he knows has had a circumcision but that doesn't make it right. Howard said it can't be right to mutilate your son. Howard said he thinks he would leave it if he had a son but he feels weird saying it. Peer pressure isn't the right reason to do it.
And what you've been waiting for:
Will said he felt really weird about not circumcising. Howard agreed that it seems weird, but does think that circumcision is wrong. You should have seen my fist clench when I heard that news. If Will has another son, that'll be another intact boy. Plus, it's the snowball effect. Any grandkids will has should either be left intact, or raised to think that circumcision isn't right.
Howard, FWIW, has three daughters. The oldest was born in 1983, and the youngest was born in 1993. It's been rumored among fans that he and his current (second) wife will have a kid, but they both deny it. Howard says his days of having babies are done and his wife doesn't want a kid of her own.
