What's going on with the time change for the Friday march? Is there day that it would be best to come down? We live within driving distance of DC but I can only make the trip once during that weekend, and want to make sure I come down at the best time.

I so want to go do this! It's even something I could work out if I take the bus
but alas....my toddler is a holy terror and I know I couldn't manage her by myself with the babe as well. I could meet someone there maybe and we could team up on kids if there is someone else in the same boat

It looks like the schedule has changed for both marches. I am not sure what happened. I just wrote David Wilson to confirm the new schedule. When I hear back I will post an update. Sorry for the confusion.

I wish I could go myself but I live in Pittsburgh. Just a short bus ride away from the bus or train station on the Southside in a good neighborhood. You could park your car in the lot next to my apartment. It would be safe there for the weekend.

If I can't go myself I can pitch in in small ways so others can

Thanks Jeff, I hope to see the final details so we can make plans.

During the day from March 29th through April 3rd we will be on the West Lawn of the US Capitol demonstrating, distributing literature and talking with people.

The West Lawn is the grassy area between the two sidewalks on either side of this photo. The west side of the Capitol faces the Washington Monument.

http://www.aoc.gov/cc/capitol/c_wf_1.cfm

We will be on the West Lawn from 9 in the morning until 5 or 6 in the afternoon each day from March 29th through April 3rd. You can stop by to help with the demonstration anytime on those days.

The demonstrators have to stay on the lawn. We can not demonstrate, distribute literature, or talk with people on the sidewalks.

Both marches will start at the West Lawn of the US Capitol and go to Lafayette Park across the street from the White House. The plans changed because there is a construction project at the Ellipse.

March 30th - 10th anniversary of the FGM law
Gather on the West Lawn of the US Capitol
March to Lafayette Park at 6pm

April 1st - First day of Child Abuse Prevention Month
Gather on the West Lawn of the US Capitol
March to Lafayette Park at 6pm

The distance from the US Capitol to Lafayette Park is between a mile and a quarter and a mile and a half.

Good luck. Hopefully it will be warm and sunny, but the weather in Washington DC can be very unpredictable in late March and early April. One day it can be warm and sunny T-shirt weather and the next day it can be cold, windy and raining.

It's a good idea to bring rain gear and warm clothes just in case it's cold and rainy.

Yes! Even if you can only make it for a few hours on one day, it will be helpful.

It depends on what you want to do: distribute literature and talk with people or march from the Capitol to Lafayette Park. The length of the marches is a little under a mile and a half.

If you want to do both, you could come to the Capitol on Friday or Sunday to demonstrate and then join in the march at 6pm. The march on Friday will probably be larger because some people who travel from out of town will have to leave Sunday afternoon.

There will probably be more demonstrators on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On those days there will be more opportunities to meet and talk with other intactivists.

We need to do a big email blitz of all the lists, tribes, groups, forums etc in the next few days to remind people one last time about the events. Could someone make a nice concise post with the main info and a couple of links that I could send out far and wide? THANK YOU!

What about posting it in TAO?

I so wish I could go! Unfortunately mangling my finger and the subsequent trip to the specialist and possible surgery have made it absolutely impossible. I'll be with you in spirit.

DH, DS, and I will be there possibly Friday for the march and then on Saturday during the day. We live about 4 hours away, but luckily have relatives in the DC area we can stay with!
I'm sooo excited. I've got to make a shirt for DS.

DH suggested this:

"I'm attached to my foreskin"

I really like it, so I think that might be the shirt DS wears. He's 16mo.

How many of us are staying in local hotels? It would be nice to get together in the evenings maybe after the march.

I am going to the NOCIRC dinner on Friday evening. I'll be at the demonstration/march all day Sat most likely.

What can I do for quick t-shirts?
