Someone's selling a Nintendo Wii to pay for their sons mutilation
(for crackpot reasons as usual).

If you're an ebay member, you can tell them what you think.

Who spends that long explaining WHY they're offering that particular item for sale? If I were selling a guitar to pay for a new transmission for my car, would I explain the whole situation? NOPE! This person obviously just wants attention for selling such a valuable possession to pay for their child's genital mutilation.

There was another Ebay sale like this not long ago. A bunch of people complained about it and it was pulled. Report this listing please!

That is totaly sick.

However, I sent a message to say that the circ rate in the U.S. is down to about 50% today, and that the choice belongs to his son . Also told him to read at www.cirp.org. I left my email address visible. We'll see if there is a response. Could be an opportunity to educate.

Someone who is better at math than I...

perhaps send him an email about how much money his child would have at 18 years old if that 800 was invested today (maybe say at the percentage of a CD or something?)

We have a Wii. What great fun it is! He should keep the Wii for when his kids are old enough to enjoy it. Has the tool not considered that there might be a reason why circ is covered, i.e. not medically necesary? Or maybe he should save the Wii for possible real live medical complications?!

I don't believe him Sorry...I looked up the history of the bids and it appears to be the same three people and their screen names are all very similar. Plus he is a power seller, he sells tons of video game stuff.....I think this was just a way to get some attention......sorry that's my opinion!!

That's just disgusting, whether he is *actually* raising $ for a son's circumcision or not. The "facts" he posted about circ remind me a little of circumfetish sites.

I just emailed the seller.

Just out of curiosity, does anybody know what the circ rate is in Fairmont, MN? That's where the seller claims to be selling from, and the local circ rate just might be higher (or lower) than the national rate.

I sent him a message about the rates of circ and told him some random facts. I hope it's just a fluke and he's wanting money and NOT to get a baby circumcised. I'd report it, but I don't know how.

I think mine ended up being listed with the profanity/racism/ect. one. It was the closest to "promoting the sexual assault of minors" I could get.

ETA: Is there a way to blacklist sellers? I have preferred sellers/buyers on my friends list so I can't use it as a "don't buy from them" list. I would hate to accidentally buy something from this person down the line. =/

that makes no sense. he could say he's raising funds to take care of twins, the whole infertility thing sounds like something people would be interested in, but he chooses to talk about circumcision? weird.

the user names you see are anonymous, according to the site. (To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails, only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID in bid history. Other members will see anonymous names.

I reported it under human body parts. No, he's not selling body parts, but he's selling it to finance cutting off a body part!

It's not a crime yet, unfortunately.

It IS what ebay calls "keyword spamming" where you throw terms unrelated to your actual item into the title or description to increase search hits.

It's a violation they take seriously. As an active seller I've had listings cancelled because I said "men can grow their foreskins just as those tribesmen on the Discovery Channel grow their earlobes." The violation was bringing up Discovery Channel in a male hygiene device listing.

I can't complain to ebay because I'm still guilty of this myself by its strict definition, and I can't afford the scrutiny. I hope they hear from enough of us. Unfortunately, ebay will refund the scumbag's listing fees when they cancel it.

If he or an ally is bidding on his own listings, that is enough to get him banned from ebay.
