Although my birth center STRONGLY discouraged circumcision, the ymentioned it and showed (horrific) slides in their classes.

My hospital class instructor was a woman who circed her sons and saved the bell they used as a "little souveneir.":

She read something from the AAP about how there is no medical reason to circ but she rolled her eyes the whole time: and when I pulled out the Fleiss articles and read the parts about how circ in Western US (where I am) is only 35% now, and only 60% nationwide, she said it wasn't true and insisted that the wide majority of US men are still circed, and she also said that circ has nothing to do with bfing failure (it's one of the leading causes).

And, of course, "it doesn't hurt" and "it's a parent's choice!"
