I'm not asking for opinion, but rather, experience please.
I am Jewish, my husband is not. We decided when my son was a baby to not have him circumcised. Now that he is closing in on 13, and time to have a Bar Mitzva within the next year, I wonder, can he be Bar Mitzva uncircumcised? Have any of you here a son that is not circumcised and has been Bar Mitzva('d)? Were any special circumstances or "adjustments" made to allow for him to have his Bar Mitzva? My town does not have a rabbi for me to ask.

You might want to contact Ronald Goldman, he would probably have the most experience with other paents who have gone this route and what they have encountered.

Hope that helps,

Hi MaKin,
You don't say where you are, but I would venture a guess that someone who willingly performs a Brit Shalom would do the same with a Bar Mitzva. I'm UU, so I don't know about these things, but I've always been under the impression that a child is considered 'Jewish' if his or her mother is Jewish.
At any rate, here are those rabbis, cantors, etc. who have done Brit Shalom and may prove a resource to finding what you need if nothing else.
Hope one is near you!
Teresa

If you are Jewish, and your child is your biological child, your son is Jewish. The actual circumcision part of a bris does not effect this equation.

And I have never, ever heard of anybody in any synagogue checking penises before bar mitzvahs ...edited to add: or at any other time in any circumstance. It's a nonissue.

Mazal tov on your simkha (celebration) ...

I appreciate everyone's responses. I'll check out all of the links. I guess that I should know this, but what is a Brit Shalom? Is it a Bris?
Thanks, MaKin

It is a baby naming cremony without the circumcision.

Here is an example:
