Maybe it's that American culture thing again, American cats can't learn about traffic, where the rest of the world's cats seem to be fine and die of a ripe old age despite being free to roam, why would that be?
Traffic isnt so much the problem here, though I have seen more cats than I care to count on the road and 1 I ran over myself : it is the wild animals and injury from fighting with other cats and even wild cats.
